Anyone have a child lose a tooth from an injury at a young age?
My DD is 3. She fell and hit her mouth and her top two teeth are loose. Initially the dentist said they may tighten back up, but after an xray she said the root is dead on one and it will fall out. The other tooth could go either way at this point. I'm stressing out about her losing a tooth at 3 and I'm worried it will impact her speech and adult teeth. Has this happened to anyone who could share their experience? Thanks!

Same thing happened to a friend's daughter but she lost both teeth when she fell and I think she was a little younger. Her adult teeth came in just fine and her speech was always clear. She's 8 now and just fine. Hope your DD is ok!

Not my child but my brother lost his front 2 teeth at 3. Our neighbors son was swinging a golf club around and my brother walked behind and his teeth were knocked out. They tried to replant them but they didn't take. His speech and adult teeth were fine.

I lost my 2 front teeth at 3 also. My speech has always been fine, and my adult teeth are fine. My biggest "problem" was my relatives always singing "All I Want for Christmas is My 2 Front Teeth". I have scars from that!
ETA: they grew in when I was 10...probably when I would have lost them naturally!

My son knocked his front tooth out at 10 months old. He never had any issues with speech or anything, and his grown up tooth came in at 6. It was so weird when the tooth grew in because we were so used to seeing him without it!

dd fell with a sippy cup in her mouth a week after her 2nd birthday. her front tooth fell out. i thought it was the worst thing in the world at the time. now, a year later, im so used to it. it looks cute. i remember the dentist telling me that youll see a lot of young kids at the playground/school missing teeth. it made me feel a little better. she speaks fine without it, i actually joked that she spoke better without it. we will have a huge party when it grows in.

Aww, thank you! Makes me feel so much better. It's not out yet but loose. I guess when it happens it happens. Thank you!
