BTDT moms: Best container for keeping food hot?

Is the foogo good for keeping something warm until lunchtime? I was thinking of giving my son mac & cheese and other "hot" meals to bring to kindergarten, but only if it will stay relatively warm. Is the foogo the best or is there something better out there?

I just bought one.

Do you heat it first by putting in hot water leaving it then dumping it out, then add the food item hot as well? Or do you just put the hot food in?

Same with cold, do you pour in cold water, let it sit, dump it then add cold item?

My kids complain their Funtainers only keep the food lukewarm. I fill with hot water for 5 min before putting in the food as directed too. Was hoping there was something better out there!

I don't fill it, I run the outside in hot water before adding the food though. Cold I just put it in the fridge for a few minutes. Never had an issue with keeping hot or cold, but, I wouldn't do anything breaded, like Chicken Nuggets, because they get soggy.

Same here. I put boiling water in it for 10-15 minutes and DD still said the food was barely warm.

I put boiling water in for 10 mins or so, while I am cooking or heating up the food, then put the hot food in.

I sent it with DH first to test it, he said it was warm, not hot, but not cold. DS said it was perfect, but he doenst like HOT foods. I use it for soup, tortellini, hot dogs, etc.

Yes, usually mac & cheese straight from the pot I made it in.
