feeling guilty dropping 16 month old son @ daycare
My Dd never cried. Ds used to go to my friend from 7 months to 12months. I had several back surgeries....2 after he was born so he was with me, DH & my mom until he was 7 months when I went back to work. Then when he was12 months I had another one and again family was with him. I go back to work in about 2 wks so have been dropping him at the daycare to get used tp it. 1st time he was fine when I left. He got sick and was home for 2 wks straight with me. 2 nd time cried a little but today he was hysterical. I know it's normal and he will survive but will I??? Lol. I just feel so guilty :(

Aww it's so hard when they are going through separation anxiety. Whenever I have a rough morning dropping off DS, I wait a little while and then call to check in. As soon as I hear that he's fine and playing, then I feel better. Otherwise I picture him being upset all day. It will get easier.

I so feel your pain right now. Going through the same thing except my son is 3. The morning drop off is the worst...the tears...ugghh its heartbreaking and trust me I cry every day. I normally hang back for a few minutes after he goes in his classroom and peak through the door to make sure he's ok...and he calms down really fast even on the mornings with the worst crying. And then when I pick him up in the afternoon I peak through the door b4 I get him and he's always having a good time. Its getting easier slowly but surely. It really is true though- its so much worse for us than it is for the kids.

I feel your pain. DD didn't want to be with my nanny, when I started a toddler enrichment program, she was crying and screaming. I have left work to spy on her, and she was laughing and playing. Don't worry.. they may cry every time you drop off, but literally 15 mins later, will be happy and playing. Hugs.. its not easy to hear them cry.. but he will be fine.
