Fresh Figs - Recipes?
Looking for any recipe suggestions that include fresh figs.
I have so many figs from my tree, I don't know what to do with all of them anymore. I'm all figged out!

Re: Fresh Figs - Recipes?
Can do some goat cheese and fig bruschetta or even make a fig jam, then can it and use it for baked brie recipes in the fall

jealous. i used to have a fig tree...
i loved to eat them all plain too. so im kind of no help but...
you can do figs and goat cheese on toasted bread (like a bruschetta)
or you can make a fig jam to put on brie and crackers.
you can also put them on a spinach salad with a balsamic or raspberry vinaigrette.

Re: Fresh Figs - Recipes?
my MIL keeps giving me figs from their tree. I have been just eating them as is, but I think I need recipes too! Haha.
I had mac and cheese out a couple weeks ago, it was brie, figs, and shittake mushrooms. So so good. No idea if it will be as good if I make it myself though. I have never cooked with figs before.
how do you prep a fig to cook with it? do you peel it? i usually open them and wash them then just eat around the skin. So im not even sure how to prep it!

Re: Fresh Figs - Recipes?
I make a pizza using fresh figs.
Pizza crust (I use a precooked one) Arugala Goat cheese Red onions Figs (cut in quarters) Balsamic glace or homemade reduction Prosciutto
Thinly slice onions and caramelize. Set aside. Warm pizza crust in oven. Once warmed, cover pizza with the caramelized onions, followed by the proscuitto (I use 1-2 large onions, but this is totally up to you. Prosciutto should only be one layer). Spread a thick layer of arugala over onions & prosciutto. Cut up goat cheese and plop on top (I use a 6-8 oz package). Figs go on top of cheese. Sprinkle with sea salt. Drizzle balsamic glace or reduction on top.
I've made it without the prosciutto and it's wonderful that way, too.
