No way. And I jump at the chance to let my kids sleep overnight a my parents. But 4 weeks is way too long for that age. Maybe a weekend but that's it

I would LOVE for someone to take my kids somewhere for a week, but 4 weeks at those young ages is too long.

ITA! A week would be FAB but 4 is too much.

Re: WOuld you send away your 2 yr old & 4 yr old
Hmmm, if they were a little older I'd strongly consider it. If I could swing it, I'd also consider making a long weekend trip to where ever they are maybe at the 2 week mark, so I get to see them. I think it would be great for them to have that special time with grandparents and cousins. It's memories that they will have for a long time.
My cousin used to visit us every summer in NY for 2 months when her mother moved her to Antigua. She always says that it was some of the best summers of her life because we got to spend time together and my grandparents spoiled her.

This. I think 4 and 2 is too young but at 6 and 8 I would definitely allow it and will probably do it as my entire family is in south Florida. I would miss them terribly but it would be selfish of me to deprive them of the opportunity to bond with their cousins and grandparents because of what I would feel. I want my kids to have a close bond with my side of the family which is difficult when you see someone only a few times a year a few days at a time. When the time comes I will probably stay the first week with them and come back for the last week.

No, too long for their ages. My 4 yr old still cries for me on occasion during overnights with G-ma.

No,not a chance.
They're 10 & 11 and we've only worked ourselves up to 3 weeks in the summer with grandma & grandpa.
That's enough time at that age. At 2 & 4, a week is the max I'd do.

At that age, the most I could do was overnight, and even that's hard for me!

Re: WOuld you send away your 2 yr old & 4 yr old
When I was in 3rd grade I went on a month long trip with my grandparents to Washington and California. I still remember crying at the end that I just wanted to see my mom and dad. I think 2 and 4 is way too long. I wouldn't until middle school.
