Is anyone familiar with Dr halfren (not sire that's how you spell it). He is from the Stonybrook office but has been at the Mineola office for over 2 weeks. I was told he is there Tuesdays permanently. He did my IUI this week and I really liked him. Has anyone else had any experience with him?

Re: RSofNY
I see him sometimes and he has done one of my IUIs.
I like him. He has a lot of knowledge but you sometimes have to pry it from him. He seems very old school in the way he just tells you this is what you need to do and expects you to be ok with that. I of course never am and need an explanation of everything all the time! And if you ask, he will explain.
But I do like him.
My first choice is Dr. Stelling. Second Dr. Halfen.

He's a wonderful man. Definitely old school, but he's really caring.

I loveeeee Dr. Halfen. He did most of my monitoring and my 3rd IUI which ended up being successful and I now have a 9 month old. He's very patient and knowledgable. Good luck!

Thank you all. I'm with sung now and think I'll switch. I got a really good concerned friendly vibe from him

I really like him as well! He is very personable and I like how he always uses your name when he speaks to you making you feel more comfortable.

I agree with the pp's. I saw him a few times when Lydic was unavailable and found him to be a very nice, pleasant man. Good luck!

Loved Dr. Halfen! He was so sweet - knowledgable, caring and concerned. He gave me a huge hug when I got my BFP. I saw him & Dr. Stelling mostly - loved them both!

I totally agree with all of this. My second FET is on Wed and I begged Stelling to do it!

He is not my favorite there. I saw him today and he didn't want me to do the 250mg as recommended by Dr. Saketos. He kept saying its a waste and that I should ony do 200mg like last time. Eventually he agreed, but only after me insisting that is what Dr. Saketos said (he didn't read the notes in my file, but finally did and yup- they they were). There have been other instances when I didn't feel comfortable with his protocol, or I felt he was quick to just give up on me.
Dr. Stelling is my favorite- I am hoping I see him more often.

He doesn't like to increase if you are producing follies on a lower dose. Your stats actually decrease as your dosage increases

He did mention that, but since I only produced 1 mature follicle and 1 that could have gone either way (17mm), Dr. Saketos recommended increasing. And since we are paying out of pocket for this, I want to make sure I'm doing everything possible to give us the best chance of pregnancy.
Like I said, this is just my experience with him. Others love him, others don't.
