New iphone- I don't get it
I live by one of the apple stores in the city, and could not believe how long the line was. Same for all the various AT&T and Verizon stores I passed on the way to work. I don't get it. What is the big appeal of getting it the day of? Maybe I'm naive, but I'd rather wait a few weeks then stand on line overnight.

Just to say they did? I'm with you. I actually just got a new phone and opted for the 5 instead of the new 5S.

I think a lot of people want the gold 5S and then there are people who just have to have it right this very minute!

And really, who cares? The damn things are so fragile that you just KNOW you are gonna cover it up with an Otterbox.

I know! No one ever see's the color of the phone anyway. I'm also on the fence bat the fingerprint scanner on the 5s. Does Apple really need my fingerprints?!

Funny because I work on 5th ave in midtown. There's an At&t store right outside my building. Only 5 people on line about a half hr before the store opened. I expected it to be at least a block long!
I'll wait til the frenzy dies down.

it's because people always want the latest and greatest technology. you're right about the otterbox... i really didn't care what color my iphone was since it was going to be covered up anyway.

Some medial outlets were reporting that there is limited inventory of the iPhone 5S because the fingerprint chip is hard to manufacture. So I guess this is their way of telling the masses to run out and get a phone ASAP before it runs out of production. 
Personally I think its crazy that people in Europe are standing on line for 5- 72 hours for just a phone. I have the 4S and had plans to upgrade to the 5S only because my 2 year contract is set to expire next month, but seriously, I can wait. I am not going to die of shame if I get to use my 4S for another 2 years..

I have waited in dawn's early light to get something silly for my kids, even brought a chaise and blanket to wait in, but I wouldn't do it for a new phone.
OTOH, I saw about 30 guys standing in the dark waiting for the newest Grand Theft Auto game. They're just big kids.

HaHaha Shows how much I knew about the new Iphone... Walking to work this morning I saw a long line outside of Fidelity Investments and said oHh $H*t what the heck happened why is everyone lining up to take their money out....to only find out its ppl waiting on line for at&t next door to get the iphone
