gliders/rockers - not from baby stores
i am debating if i even need/want a glider/rocker. sure they are comfortable, but i already have a rocking chair, so i cant justify spending close to $800 on the rocker/ottoman set i like...
i was recently looking at gliders/rockers at furniture stores (e.g. Bob's). does anyone have experience with these?

gliders/rockers - not from baby stores
I got mine on a buy/sell group on Facebook! $50 for one that retails for about $500. No ottoman but it was in PERFECT condition! I am so pleased with my find!

I bought mine from Hayneedle.com and with the ottoman i think it was like $300 no shipping fee. recliner and rocker
I absolutely love it. I suppose you could get a super comfy chair but i didnt have the room for something like that.

I love my glider. My mom bought it from tru so I don't think it was more than $300. So worth it. It was used daily with my ds up until age 4. Now it will be used for my daughter. It's perfect for feedings, rocking dc to sleep and later for nighttime book reading.

I bought mine on overstock. I used it 2x and now its in the attic. Waste of money IMO. We never rocked DS and 99% of the time we weren't in his room where the rocker was.

Same here! Except for the Overstock part.... and mine sits in my den.

I bought mine at BRU. I think it was $300 for both pieces. It came a few weeks after Tiny Tot was born. I've beenn using it everyday. Once Poo is born it will go into his room.

I bought a dutalier glider from a furniture store. It definitely was expensive, but I love that it doesnt look like a baby chair (IMO at least). I got a LOT of use out of it. I nursed DS so i used it a lot when he was a baby. I still use it to read books to him. I actually have it in my bedroom, not DS' bedroom.

i got my glider from amazon, it retails for over $500 but we got it for $130 with free shipping! i Loved it! i don't use it as much anymore but when DD was first born i lived in it!

Just bought mine from Walmart which arrives Tuesday. I can't see spending as much as they cost to use for about a year. Unless it is going to be a permenant piece of furniture.
