Only when I have a shower, usually someplace far away, like NJ, and I can't bring DD. Otherwise, I'll get an hour or two here and there to get my haircut or to go food shopping without DD, if DH is home.

Hell no!
I also work M-F, and our weekends are so packed and I really want my DS time then. I'm off in the summers and could use a break from him then, but that is DH's busy season. Once he starts some type of camp, I figure I'll have time to myself.

Not a whole day. If DH is able to watch the baby I might go shopping for a couple of hours or take a nap.
I never feel the need for an entire day. I work full time so I like spending most of my time at home with DS. An hour or two once in awhile is just enough to stay sane

Never. These kids have been in the room with me while getting cavities filled, while getting Pap smears, getting my hair colored...
Dh works crazy hours and I have no family around.
To me a break is when dh is home and I take one to sports practice while he is home with the other. That is a terrific hr spent watching someone entertain my kid.

No, but I also have no interest in a day alone. Tiring as the two kids are, I would rather be with them and my hubby than alone. I do love date nights though when I get time alone with DH but I wouldn't really want a day all by myself.

Not a full day because I still get that new mommy guilt when I'm not working and not with him but if I want to do something DH has no problems staying with DS and I do the same for him.

nope. not often at all... maybe once or twice a year if I have something like a shower to go to.
I'm a SAHM and all of our family lives a few hours away. so I don't have anybody right here that says "hey! let me take DS for the afternoon so you can get some stuff done!"
he's 3, and did just start a nursery school 5 hours a week, so that's been nice time "off"  but its usually spent grocery shopping, cleaning, and getting that kind of stuff done without him underfoot.
DH and I also usually take one night a week to go out for coffee or a drink with friends, too so that's nice.
What I really need to work on is more date nights. We've only been on maybe 2 dates in the past 14 months. we've been out to weddings, or to dinner with groups... but very rarely do just the 2 of us go out....

Funny DH and I were just talking about this.
In the summer my parents took the kids over night a few times. It would give DH a night alone and a day alone until after naps (3 or 4). It was amazing!!! We would work like animals and get tons of stuff done around the house though.
For my birthday I asked for a day to go shopping alone! For myself! I need so many things for myself and I never shop for myself. I can't wait

Ha! My "me time" is when I go to work. On the weekends DH takes DD to the bagel store in the morning to get bagels and brings them home, so I get all of 10 minutes.

A day? No. My oldest child is 4. I have not had a day to myself since he was born. Unless recovering from surgery counts, and I was taking pain meds every 3 hours and sleeping.
If he was in daycare, I might have dropped him off for half a day so I can do stuff for myself. But my parents watch my kids full time, so when I'm not at work, the kids are with me. They watch my kids because I have to work, not so I can have a day to myself.

Yes and it's wonderful. My DH works crazy long hours and I am a SAHM. I live for when I can go away with my Mom over night gambling or just taking as long as I want to go grocery shopping and to run a boatload of errands. I just have to ask for the time. He loves having that time with them and they do too. It works out very well for us. I go away over night twice a year, and get about 4-6 hours alone every 2wks. It's great, but very very busy. I try to jam as much in as I can.

Same. Though there are plenty of times I think I am going to have the day for myself but ExH has some excuse. I don't mind those days because I get more time with DS

I do.
Sometimes it's on a work trip, which maybe doesn't count because technically I'm working, but my job is fun and I love traveling so it's usually a really enjoyable experience.
I will also occasionally leave DD at home with DH and go shopping and out to lunch w my mom.
Or once in a while I'll take a day off, but still bring DD to daycare for a few hours just to get things done and have a little me time.

never a full day but i get chunks of time... DH is good about knowing i need 2-3 hours to go to the gym and just run errands alone.
sadly i count food shopping alone as time to myself.

If I get a day to myself it's because I need to run errands or clean and my mom took DS. I tried to go to dinner with my mom and DH text me 20 minutes later telling me I needed to hurry up. A friend of mine wants to do a girls night and I told her I don't think I can because DH can't handle DS while he's teething. I REALLY need a night away with a friend at like Foxwoods!!!

We don't actaully get a whole day to ourselves but at least a day without having to "take care" of baby. First we dedicate one whole weekend to ourselves. We don't go out, we don't have company over, nothing. One day DH will handle everything for the baby, diaper changing, feeding, playing, bathing, etc. I will just lounge around and do nothing, maybe nap, take a ong shower/bath, etc and then we switch the next day. It seems to work, we don't feel guilty because we are home just being lazy.
