Early Intervention Question
I recently had my 2 year old son evaluated for speech and some "quirky" behavior. Can anyone tell my if I still meet with my with the service coordinator if he is not getting services. My service coordinator just called to confirm our meeting. I'm also not sure what to expect! any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Early Intervention Question
Did you get a copy of the reports? You should've gotten a copy in the mail and can read through them and get an idea of what his needs are and if he qualifies for services.
During the meeting, they'll review the reports and make any recommendations for services, if warranted.

Early Intervention Question
The county called me up and cancelled my meeting once they received the reports that she didn't qualify. I had already known that she didn't qualify for speech once the agency told me.

Re: Early Intervention Question
You will also probably write the goals for your child ...during EI it's called IFSP, which his the individualized family service plan.
The goals should be based on what you would like to see your obtain during EI. These goals can help with any part of your child's life. It's supposed to be a family plan, siblings can be included in therapy etc. The coordinator will ask you specific questions that should lead to formulating goals.
If your child didn't have an OT eval, definitely request one, so many issues stem from the sensory motor component.
