Early Intervention Question(s)
I just called this morning to get DS evaluated. How long should I expect to wait to hear from them? And do they do the evaluations in the afternoon or evenings?
TIA

Re: Early Intervention Question(s)
i live in NJ so might be different. Here is my timeline.
I called on 7/22/08.
Evaluation was 8/6/08. He qualified for services.
Service coordination meeting was 8/26/08.
Will be contacted hopefully within a week to find out who our PT will be and set up the first appointment.
This is considered fast track. They have their own internal deadlines that they try to abide by. For example, I believe they have 30 days from the evaluation to do the services coordination meeting. Then from there they have 30 days to start services.
You can be a little pushy without coming off rude. That could help speed up the process.
Good luck!

Re: Early Intervention Question(s)
You should get a call soon... they typically do the evals during the day - just be sure to schedule DS at a time when he would be "himself" - don't schedule during naptime, snacktime, etc - because his behavior will throw off the tests....

Re: Early Intervention Question(s)
I'm in Nassau. I called about the the second week in February, my son was evaluated Feb.22nd. Our meeting was on March 3rd and he started services March 21st. He actually just got done with EI and will be starting specialized preschool on the 3rd for his speech delay. As for the times of the meetings they should work with you based on your avaliability. Good luck.

Re: Early Intervention Question(s)
You should hear from them soon. Legally, the eval has to scheduled within 30 days of your request.
