Bleeding XPOST
Hi I am just posting here as well for some advice. Thank you!
Hello, I am 6 weeks on Monday and started spotting last night. It is brownish red. I know brown isn't bad, but the fact that it is mixed with red has me nervous. I called my doctor and they said if it is a miscarriage there is nothing to do, and if I have cramping and heavy bleeding to go to the ER.
If a pregnant woman starts bleeding, shouldn't the doctor have them come in to make sure all is OK even if they are only going to be 6 weeks?
They said I could make an appt for next week, but then the doctors didn't have anything open, so they will call me Monday to give me an appt.
I am very nervous over here and these women are very blah about it. I get that they see this a lot, but I don't and I am scared. Anyone deal with this?
Thanks!

They DO NOT do that. Chances are you are fine. BUT, there's really nothing that can be done, and at 6 weeks there is nothing to be seen. You can ask for 2 HCG Beta scripts (blood work to test that HCG is doubling in 48 hours, you would have it drawn 2 days apart). But again, there isn't anything that can be done if it IS a mc. Honestly, even if you do start cramping and have heavy bleeding, the ER isn't going to do anything for you except confirm the MC. Unless you are going through like a pad an hour I would stay home and just be comfortable, if you do start going through that much then go to the ER.

They should see u. When I was preggo I called the doc and said I was spotting and they had me come in next day and I was only 4wks! They monitored my betas and had me come on as much as I needed to to make me feel better. I lost it right before 10 weeks but they never dismissed my concerns. I love that about the practice I'm in. Even when no appts were avail doc had the nurses squeeze me in.

Re: Bleeding XPOST
Sending you
When I was first prego with my DS, I was cramping horrible and spotting just like you.. must have been around 6 weeks est and he fit me in asap for a check. It really depends on your Dr and what their office protocol is. The wait is usually pretty bad in my OB/GYN but it is because he accomodates his patients and we all appreciate it when our time comes around that we need him. Unfortunately if you are MC, there is nothing you can do about it. BUT I just want to add that many many women get brownish-light red spotting in the beginning. Some have it the entire pregnancy! I would drink plenty of water and try and stay off your feet for a bit and relax. Saying prayers for you!
