yes, 100%. I turn 30 in two months. I have two amazing children and an amazing husband. A home, a career, great family and the best nieces /nephews.
I am also with the man that I dreamed I would be with when I was 17!
I am so blessed.

I got married a few years later than I thought I would and had kids a few years later too. Other than that, I think so.
I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do but I knew I would be in business/finance and I am. I had an idea of how much my salary would be and while I am far above what I thought of when I was younger, I didn't know how much of your salary gets gobbled up.
I didn't have a plan other than to go to college, get a good job, be successfully professionally, get married, have kids. I've done all that but I set pretty basic goals!

I never thought about it. I always knew I would eventually get married and have kids I just never set a specific timeframe for it.
So far so good!
Hubby..check
Baby...check
House..check
Career.. 1/2 check. I just need to get licensed and find a more "stable" position.

Yes. But in some ways it's not exactly what I thought it would be.
I have the job I went to school for.
I married my best friend.
We have a beautiful daughter.
Own our house and it will be paid off in 13.5 years.
I'm very grateful but certain things aren't what I expected.

I had really unrealistic expectations even as I graduated college but for the most part I'm very happy and have accomplished what I expected. Married to my best friend, beautiful daughter and second baby on the way, we're renovating our first home and should be moving in within the next few months. Career wise I'm not satisfied but my dream was literally impossible so I've had to edit as I went along.

In my personal life, YES, better than I ever would have expected.
Financially, God no.
Career-wise, no, not at all. I never would have imagined I would not be using my degree or certifications and would be a stay at home mom. I mean, I'm homeschooling my kids, so I guess technically I'm using my degree, but not the way I expected!!
I could have wrote this exactly. (except for the homeschooling part).

Nope, not at all. The biggest issue is financial stability and job stability. I am blessed to have an amazing husband, kids, home etc but with the recession I feel that set back the best yrs I had career wise and am now playing catch up.

No way !
I would have never imagined I'd be where I am today, with who I am with, doing what I'm doing or living the life I have. It is not even remotely possible I could believe I would be where I am today.
I had no expectations at all though. I just wanted to live. I had goals and a path I wanted to follow. When those dreams died or roads were blocked, I just found new ones. They gave me new experiences and new hopes and as each on of those was fullfilled I found out about things I never new were out there and things I wanted to do, places I wanted to see, experiences I wanted to experiences. Whenever anything didn't work out I just found a new path.
No this is not where I saw myself.
I have expectations for the next 10yrs, but ultimately I'll just go with what happens in life. I try to keep my goals reasonable and things I can plan for to make them happen.
I certainly had a lot tied up in my dad moving home. Him seeing my daughter graduate from elementary, teaching her to fish, teaching both of us to play guitar. All those dreams are dead now. I just HAVE to move on because life just doesn't give a damn about broken promies, dashed dreams or unfilled promises. I just keeps handing you new cards and you can either play your hand or sit and sulk.
I'm not rich
I'm not as poor as I could be
I'm not the top of my job
I'm not the bottom
I'm not 100% healthy
I'm not battling a life threatening disease (That Im aware of)
I'm not going to sleep with an easy mind
I'm not sleeping with tears on my pillow (often)
Its life. I live it!

For the most part yes. The only thing I still don't feel settled in my forever home and that is frustrating because I am ready to settle into 1 house that I can live in for the next 20 years hopefully. But other than that I am happily married with 3 kids and I feel blessed to be a SAHM.

All I wanted was to be a mom. I've always dreamed of it. I wanted to be like my own mom. I never really had any idea what I wanted when I was younger. I just knew I wanted to be happy, own a home, have kids and marry a wonderful man.
Check, check..check and check!
Career wise....I was never into school for the acedemics. I really had to drag myself to go to college. My husband is trying to get me to go back to finish...

I feel very blessed to say pretty damned close. There were some swaps made along the way but by this age I figured I would be married with 2 kids, white picket fence and two dogs and be working as a teacher. I never finished my teaching degree but went into HR instead and am pretty far along in my career which I love! I am married, we own our home (which does have a white picket fence ) and have two dogs. We only have one (absolutely incredible) child but we waited to start so we could do some traveling.

More or less, yes although i didnt really set specific goals for myself like "I must be doing __ by age __". I only knew I wanted to be a lawyer and live independently and i am happy I am where I am career-wise although there was a time in college where all I dreamed about was working at Shearman & Stearling as a lawyer in an exotic field like "international law".. I didnt expect to get married at all, so that was a nice bonus...

No....single mother at 42.....living out of state with no family/friends.....
BUT.....I own my house....have a good job.....and most importantly, my boys are beautiful and my heart....So, even though life didn't turn out the way I planned, I have learned to count my blessings and be grateful for what I have.

Yes
With the exception of my career. I'd planned to be way further along than I am - but I didn't know at 18 how much it took to have a house, husband, 2 kids and be a "VP" ........KWIM? Realistically, for me anyway, something had to give. That's what gave.

This exactly. Never really "planned" for where I'd be. But incredibly grateful for what I have...a promising career, married with three children, and own a couple of properties. I worked hard to get where I am though but honestly did not realize it at the time where it would get me.
