I need a personal shopper

So last night I went with by BF to a holiday get together at a bar in NYC. I asked him what to wear, he said it was low key we were just going for beers etc. so wear jeans. I wore dark jeans, high boots and a cute top. I was completely under dressed. I felt so stupid, all the girls were decked out in dresses, skirts etc.

Someone please help me, I have no clue where to shop for fun things to go out in. I shop at Banana, Macy's etc. but never see anything cute to go out in.

Sorry if this is long winded, but just need some ideas so I don't feel underdressed again

Victoria's Secret has some cute sweater dresses that you can wear with tights and boots.
I also find things in Kohl's sometimes.
Macy's is good too- you just have to really look.
Any department store really.
You can always dress up a simple black skirt with a fun, sparkly top. Or a sparkly tank with a cute cardigan over it.
Simple stuff like that.

I probably would have worn exactly what you describe, skinny jeans, high heeled tall boots and a cute top. Especially last night in NYC, it was frigid!

Victoria Secret actually has some really good quality and cute clothes and dresses ... i'm not a fan of quality of the bras, but I love the clothes
