Does your building salt or sand parking lots?
I just looked outside my office building and the steps, handicap ramp, and entire parking lot are an icy slush mix. I'm furious! They know the weather is crappy. Don't they have a responsibility to at least put sand or salt down? Or clear the stairs from slush? Something??
I'm just concerned walking out there in 2 hours when it's time for me to leave b/c it will be pitch black and I won't be able to see very well and I'm 27.5 weeks pregnant. My coworker already called to complain over an hour ago and still nothing has been done.
Is it just me?

They came by once today before it changed over to rain/sleet. They always come at exactly 10am when everyone is parked for the day, so when you go out at lunch the spots are still full of slush.
I am always concerned since our parking lot is horribly lit. My co-worker almost fell yesterday.

Re: Does your building salt or sand parking lots?
Our lot was still covered in snow when I went out to clean off my car at 1pm. Probably a slushy mess now.

Mine has not done anything yet, but this is no surprise since the landlord is cheap and lazy.
I know for residential homes, you are not required to shovel unless it has stopped snowing for an1 hour. Not sure about parking lots.

Came into work this morning to an entire ice skating rink instead of a parking lot. Unbelievable.

I'd call 311. Last night it was still rainy/snowy so I could understand that. But it seems like no one shoveled or even bothered to put down salt. My stupid crackhead landlord (who doesn't have a job and sits home all effing day) didn't bother to salt or shovel. If I get home today and he still hasn't, I'm calling 311. They can be ticketed.
ETA: I think they have 24 hours after the storm to shovel/salt. After that they can get a ticket.

The parking lot was an ice skating rink this morning. The guy to salt was just pulling into the parking lot when I was skating into work.

I think our landlords are related

i have the same issue at my job...but what makes matters worse is that we own our plows. we can have them clear the snow anytime we want and they dont! they clear the lot and entryways that visitors use but the staff lot/street and sidewalks are an icy mess. it is so frustrating

They tried, but it was just freezing faster than they could get rid of it. A lot of it is melting right now.
I wiped out in the parking lot.

Good, hopefully they'll do something about it now. Nothing like the wrath of a pregnant woman to light a fire under their asses!

Re: Does your building salt or sand parking lots?
I'm at a school and it was partially done, but the entire area near the door wasn't! Also, the staff lot was the one partially done, the student lot wasn't done at all and so they just closed it and are directing students to park on the streets!
