If you (parent) don't own snow pants.......

Do you just throw on jeans or sweat pants in layers to go outside?

I have to admit I'm not a winter/play in the snow person but we are picking up DS at my parents tomorrow.

They are older and I know not bringing him out today.

He has been requesting we take him out to play tomorrow when we go up there.

I don't want to personally spend money on them because I'm not a outdoorsy person and know they will not get used.

I'm thinking if I just wear layers like this, I can throw them in the dryer when I'm done.

I do have boots though!

We are going out in a few..ds (6) has snow pants. I'm throwing on under armor leggings, fleece thermals, and sweats. Not the best but it's what I have. I'm not a snow person but dh is working and im forced to play for a little bit with him outside. He's getting restless

I put on three layers today. Pj pants, jeans, then wide leg yoga pants in a water wicking material. I have on a shirt, polar fleece, winter coat, hat and two pairs of gloves. I had the boot liners in today too. I was very comfy outside in the above.

I don't really play "in" the snow - just kinda watch ds so I don't do snow pants! It was fine!

Layers:

Bottom is tights, leggings, yoga pants, wigwam socks

Top: tank, thermal long sleeve, tshirt, sweatshirt, down coat!

I have snow boots that go almost up to my knees

I don't have good gloves though! They are fashion gloves so my hands froze after 15 min

I know it sounds like such a dumb question.

I'm going to pack leggings and some heavy sweat pants.

I also just bought a pair of those fuzzy clingy socks that go up past your knee at Target and I will also wear my boot socks tomorrow.

I always go out and never owned snow pants. I do wear snow boots, regular sweats, long coat, water proof gloves. I help with snowman or make snowballs. I just make sure to not kneel or sit in the snow. I just stay standing. It has been fine for the past 6 years.
