I'll preface this by saying I'm a newbie when it comes to decorating.....

I am in the process of looking for curtains for the bay window in my living room and the windows in the dining room. Both windows have baseboard heating directly below them on the floor. Do I get floor length curtains and have them go over and in front of the baseboard? Is this a fire hazard with the heat coming out on them? Or do I get them hemmed and have them sit right above the baseboard? Opinions?!?!
