Communion Dresses
Where did you get your daughter's dress and how far in advance did you order? Average price?

Communion Dresses
We tried to go shopping for one this weekend but almost no stores had them out yet. Lobels did but not a good selection. I've seen them anywhere from $20-500. I think it really depends what you want to spend. We will probably go to Burlington. It's where I bought DS's communion suit years ago. They have a good selection and are not expensive.

Absolutely go to Little Rascals in West Islip!
we had a dress from my niece we were going to use but a few weeks to the Communion, it didn't fit. I suppose I could've had it altered but seeing the dresses her friends were wearing & knowing she'd want more bling, I took her there.
They treated her like the Duchess of Windsor had entered their shop. She was in heaven. They also convinced me that the super expensive dress she tried on & I loved would irritate her by the end of the day & so they steered me to a different (and significantly less expensive) dress that was just as nice. I was so impressed with this store, I can't say enough about it.
Try to go on an off day if you can because the inventory is overwhelming & I'd hate to go there if i was crowded.
I can't remember how much Maddie's was but I think about $180. If you want to look at it to borrow, let me know. She was a size 7 last year but the tag says size 5.

Re: Communion Dresses
Little Rascals in Islip. She has dresses from $140-$900. Communion is end of April and ordered 2 weeks ago. I highly recommend the store and Christie Helene dresses.

Re: Communion Dresses
I was at Nordstroms today and they had a bunch. I know several people who got theirs there. I hear they go quickly. The looked like they ranged from about $130-350. Most were under $200. They look like they have them online as well.

I don't have any kids yet, so I could be totally out of the loop but I am reading some of these prices and my eyes are bugging out of my head and my jaw is dropping. Is spending hundreds of dollars on a communion dress normal?!?!

Communion Dresses
My goddaughter's communion was in May and we bought her dress in January. We went to tons of places but finally bought at My Little Rascals. The owner, Dottie, was great. Over the top, but great. The dress was definitely on the pricey end but we tried on dresses in varying ranges. We never felt pressure to go for a more expensive dress. I ended up going back a year later for DD's christening gown.

Just purchased two from Nordstrom online and will return one. They do free shipping both ways.

We went to My Little Rascals in Bayshore for my DS & DD (twins). The store owner could not have been nicer or more patient. Awesome selection of dresses and suits, accessories.

Re: Communion Dresses
Last year we went to Macy's in February for my DD early May communion. With the sale & Macy's card discount it was $75 or less. It was a beautiful dress.

Re: Communion Dresses
I got my daughters dress on amazon. It was gorgeous (feel funny saying that but we got so many compliments). They have so many dresses and they are significantly less than store prices. I think I paid $60 with the thought of for that price if it is terrible we'll get something else. It was perfect, size, quality and PRICE!! Its worth a look.
