Jealous Barking and Excited Peeing?
I have two dogs- one a collie mix (about 7 years old, male, neutered) and one a pit mix (about 6 years old, female, spayed about 2 years ago). They are so different it's comical. The collie mix loves to run around and play with his toys. He doesn't even really need to play with us, he amuses himself to no end- trotting around, whipping his head around, tossing the toy in the air and catching it. Of course, he does LOVE to play with us, too. He plays keep away, tug-o-war, and his all-time favorite- fetch. He could play fetch all day every day.
The pit mix is the opposite. She, too, loves her toys, but she's a passive player. She'd rather lounge around and gnaw on her toys than throw them around. She likes to play tug-o-war with us, but gets bored of it easily. She'd rather rough house with us without the toys and she's VERY good about it- so gentle. She gets upset and barks whenever she feels the collie mix is playing too loudly. She's also a bully- (hello pit BULL!) and steals toys from the collie mix like it's her job. She trots right over and takes it right out of his mouth and goes and lays down with it. Not even to play with it, just so she can have it. I thought maybe she was just jealous so I started making sure to separate them (since if I threw one toy for both of them, she'd just take it and lay down) and playing with them one-on-one. But, we have a really small apartment for now (we used to rent a house but that was sold so we're looking to buy our own soon) and she still hears us playing and barks. Nothing stops her except if we stop playing. But even when I play one-on-one with her, I'll try throwing the toy or playing tug-o-war or even just roughhousing with her and she either gets bored easily or gets so excited that she pees. She peed on my couch (thank god for slip covers!) for like the 10th time in the past few months and I'm losing it! I don't know what to do with her. She doesn't have a UTI (3x I thought it might be something like that and took her to the vet and they found nothing) or anything like that and this ONLY ever happens when she's really excited. Aside from not playing with either of them, what can I do? They're walked 3 times a day- yesterday the accident was about 20 minutes after her walk! And it was a lot, too. I'm just at my wit's end and it seems so unfair, especially to the collie. You can just SEE the joy when he's prancing around with his toys. When the weather gets better it won't be nearly as tough since I'll be able to take them to the park and get their jollies out that way, but even still, I want to be able to play with my dogs in my own house, ya know? Any advice is welcome! Thank you for taking the time to read this novel!
ETA: I also wanted to mention that we do have a backyard, but a very small one. The apartment we rent is the first floor of a 3 family so while we do have access to the yard, the landlord (who lives on the 2nd floor) also has a toolshed back there that he accesses almost daily. Also, the fences are VERY low (my dogs can and HAVE jumped them)- and the neighbors to the left have guys in the back doing construction whenever the weather is somewhat decent (since last summer!) and the neighbors to the right have young kids who are far too interested in petting the pretty puppies and don't really speak English to warn them NOT to. I don't mind spending time in the yard with the dogs, but I always try to keep it to a minimum because I feel like it's not MY yard and they tear it up with their paws and pee on things and do, ya know, dog stuff.

Re: Jealous Barking and Excited Peeing?
I have a female who is like this. Just can't hold it when excited. But she has pretty much always been like this.
She usually will do it mores when her bladder is fuller, so I would increase her visits outside since maybe she is filling up more quickly than you realize. For us, if we know she is full if we have been out, we run her right out so if she drips it's outside.
Females can be very prone to this esp as a pup and as they age.

I'm glad to hear it's most likely age and not something that's wrong with her. I mean, the vet didn't find anything, but you never know! I did notice this started after she was spayed. It never once happened before that. We do have the backyard so I can let her duck out there after I see her drinking a lot, but it's just impossible to stay on top of it constantly. I know accidents will happen, I just wish they weren't on my couch! And I wish it didn't make me pause before playing with my other pup. I guess I can let her out in the yard right before I play with my other pup. Maybe that will stop some of the accidents before they happen. He's just so random with it, he just comes bounding into the room and drops the toy in my lap while I'm watching tv or something. It's too stinking cute.
As for diapers, I challenge anyone to come over to my house and put my 80 lb. pit bull in a diaper and get her to stay that way.
