NYC Biggest Baby Shower
Has anyone ever gone? I keep seeing post about it on my facebook feed (I like Big city moms) and it looks like it could be fun but slightly expensive but looks like you get good stuff for the money...

DH and I went. We bought the couples super pass. It was fun and totally worth it. We walked out with TONS of useful stuff. You definitely need someone with you and need your car parked nearby. You leave with THAT much stuff!

It looks like a lot of fun and it seems like you walk away with a lot of stuff...its literally 1 week from my due date which is causing me to hesitate and i think i would have to go alone...

i was supposed to go when i was pregnant with DD but it was too close to my due date
My friend went and said she got a ton of stuff, but a lot of it was stuff she ended up never using

Honestly, DH and I had trouble lugging everything and there were 2 of us. One week from your due date? I would not go if I were you.

I went 1 month before I was due. It was great, and you get a ton of free stuff, but mostly from the gift bag. You definitely need help getting it all home though. Some of the stuff was really big (I got a britax carrier and diaper pail, among a huge bag of other things) so my husband had to meet me there at the end.
I live in the city, so taking a cab home was easy. But, I don't think I would have gone if I lived outside the city.

Michelle, it's a night of awesomeness. There are different levels of tickets. Your baby shower gift depends upon the ticket you purchase (we got a Britax carrier and an Arm & Hammer diaper pail when we went). In addition to the baby shower gift, you get an enormous gift bag (the size of a duffle bag) filled with all sorts of things (toys, towels, full size creams, bottles, etc). Also, while walking around, the vendors give away all sorts of things. There are seminars (usually 10-15 minutes each) that you can choose to attend, or not. They had food (sliders, mac and cheese, etc), too. DH actually had a good time and asked if we're going to go to the next one.
