Anyone deliver at South nassau in the last couple of months?
I delivered DS1 there two years ago and was very happy with my experience. Looking to see if things are the same as they were then. TIA!

I delivered there 6 months ago and still love it! All of the nurses there are amazing. The only thing that changed when I had DS there 3 yrs ago is they prefer you keep baby in your room the whole time. They will take baby to nursery if you ask but they encourage you to keep them. I asked for them to take lo the first night bc I was up for 48 hrs and they had no problem with it.

Thank you! I kept DS with me the entire time except for when they made me send him to the nursery so that' won't be any different for me. Silly question though now that rooming in is more heir policy do they still make you keep a light on in the room at night when you have the baby? That drove me nuts last time.

I delivered there this past November and was very happy with everything!
Was there a particular area you were concerned with or curious about?

I just know a lot of hospitals are now really pushing bfing, like to the point of making it difficult to get formula should you want it. I intend on trying to bf just like I did with my first son but if his guy also has latch issues I don't want a problem getting formula. I've also heard a lot of people complaining that some hospitals practically refuse to take the baby to ge nursery. I had ds1 with me the whole time but knowing that this time when I get home there is no sleep when he baby sleeps bc I'll have a toddler running around I may want to try and get a couple hours of uninterrupted sleep.

I bf mine but bc I was so exhausted they gave him formula for a feeding. I did not have to keep a light on either

Gotcha. I had difficulty breast feeding (cracked nipples); when I finally decided that I needed to heal and asked for formula they didn't give me a problem. However maybe it wasn't an issue because of the medical problem I was having. The hospital (nurses) were very pro-nursing. Once I started using the formula though they didn't continually hound me. I couldn't answer the nursery question because I wanted to have my son with me in the room. Although this was my first child and now looking back realize I should have had them take him to the nursery so that I could get one night of full sleep. Especially since I was up for 48 hours and really should have gotten a good night sleep. Next child I definitely plan on having them take him for one night.
