Re: A few questions
I would say no to all three...not quite sure about the nail wrap though. I guess your appt at the end of aug is fine being that you are probably 4 weeks now making it 8 or 9 weeks. Usually that is when they do the first ultrasound anyway. Stay out of whirlpools this summer and wear sunblock. cant think of much more right now...also if you could skip weeks 6-16 its best bc morning sickness is a real b#tch though some dont experience it! Good Luck to you!

Re: A few questions
The fresh cheese one is up for debate. My doctor said as long as it was made with pasterized milk, that was fine. Most are here in the States so just check the label.

Re: A few questions
I just wanted to add that many of us are going to have very different answers bc the drs for some reason do not all agree with one another at all. If you have questions you can probably call your dr but some of those specific questions without hearing directly from your dr I probably wouldnt do any of them til its okayed.

You don't have to wait for your appointment either- call and ask since these are simple questions.

Re: A few questions
my ob allows things with splenda, supposedly its better than the other substitutes - nutra sweet is the worst supposedly but my friend who is a nurse lived on iced tea with sweet n low all thorughout both of her healthy pregnancies!
as for cheeses, fresh mozz, gorgonzola and blue cheese are all out - any that are unpateurized are not allowed!
i think nail wrapping is ok a little later on or if you are assured the place is well ventilated!
GOOD LUCK!

Re: A few questions
I was also allowed Splenda. The newer PG books also say it is safe in pregnancy. I also called the company who makes it and they said it does not cross the placenta so it is safe.
As for cheese, nothing unpasteurized.
Nails...I don't know for sure but I agree with the ventilation.

Ditto! If it is made with pasturized milk, it's fine.
Also, stay away from certain fish...swordfish, tuna, etc. They are high in mercury.
My doctor said splenda is okay in MODERATION.
Also, my doctor tells me to drink a gallon of water a day!
CONGRATS!

Re: A few questions
My doctor said that Splenda was fine but not nutrasweet or equal. He said splenda is the safest.
I didn't ask about the cheese honestly becuase I had read that it wasn't OK -- but I ate feta and some other fresh cheeses occasionally and it was OK. As long as it is pasturized I am sure it is fine, and of course, in moderation.
I got my nails done OFTEN during the pregnancy -- I loved being pampered, and lemme tell you, once the baby is here nice things like that are sorta out the window. I don't know about wrapping but regular manicures should be alright, just don't spend hours in the place bc of the fumes!
