Re: Disney - Boardwalk or Beach Club??
Beach Club Pros:
1. Best pool in Disney 2. SLIGHTLY closer walk to Epcot 3. Better quick serve options 4. BEACHES AND CREAM!! (YUM)
Boardwalk Pros: 1. I actually like the theming better 2. Rooms are ever so slightly larger 3. Boat launch to either HS or Epcot is closer (you have to walk to Yacht Club for the beach club boat launch)
If the pool is super important, go with the Beach Club - the boardwalk has the scary clown pool.

Re: Disney - Boardwalk or Beach Club??
We did the Yacht Club last year, and are doing the Beach Club this year - with small kids, I'd skip the Boardwarlk - the pool at the Beach/Yacht club is a favorite

Could you do Yacht Club? That would be my choice.

I am planning on going through DVC & staying in a Villa, Yacht Club does not have them.

The Yacht and Beach Club are connected, so aside from the theming of the rooms, they are basically the same hotel.

We love the beach club hotel! I would think that your 13 year old would really enjoy the pool at the beach club. You can always stroll over to the boardwalk at night for the atmosphere.....

Disney - Boardwalk or Beach Club??
I've stayed at all 3 resorts. Both have their pros and cons, but since you have children, your best bet is to stay at the Yacht or Beach club since they have the bigger pools, slides and it's walking distance to the entrance of Epcot.
My DH and I prefer the Boardwalk since its centered between the restaurants, boardwalk games, and the Dance Hall & Jelly Rolls (we do not have children yet). Also, the boats are there to take you to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, but you have the same access at the Yacht & Beach Club.
And depending on where your room is located, you have a great view of the firework show at Epoct.
