If you are pregnant with twins...
Are you seeing your regular ob or going to a high-risk practice?
I love my ob and she thinks that her practice has enough experience with twins to handle this pregnancy, and she also pointed out that I will be going for lots of scans at NSUH, which are done by high-risk docs, so it's like being co-monitored by a high-risk group. Any thoughts?
TIA!!

Re: If you are pregnant with twins...
I'm seeing midwives. They basically said that I'll have consultatons with other doctors and professionals as needed. I've debated it but I trust my midwives and I'm comfortable with them and the practice. I'll be seeing them regularly and I have faith that they will connect me with the best care for me and my babies if it is something they cannot provide.

I see my regular OB, who has delivered several sets of twins. I am high risk. Madonna Fetal Medicine comes into my OBs office every Friday. I saw them for my 12, 16, and 20 week scans

I see both. My MFM did my NT and will also do the anatomy scan. My regular OB said that we could do the anatomy scan there, but I honestly like my MFM better so I scheduled with her.

Re: If you are pregnant with twins...
My regular OB. I am not high-risk. The only difference with this pregnancy in comparison to my first two (singletons) is that now that I am 35 weeks, I go for a biophysical soon and non-stress test 2x a week to monitor breathing and movement.

That sounds perfectly fine! Even though I was with a high risk MFM, they still sent me to north Shore for that monitoring. Just be ready: NSUH wait is long, and the waiting room can get crowded. Avoid Weds. For some reasons, parking is the worst on Weds!
