Anyone's DC on a GFCF diet?

I am sorry I am bombarding this board with so many questions. I wanted to know if anyone's DC that is on the spectrum follows the Gluten Free/Casein Free diet? I am researching and some are saying that this diet helps kids on the spectrum. I wanted to know about your experiences with this... and also, if you could recommend a list of foods/meals I should buy and prepare. Currently my DC is a picky eater, but will try and give him anything that will help. Thanks!

Re: Anyone's DC on a GFCF diet?

My DD is not on the spectrum, but has a disorder called Angelman Syndrome. Many in our community have recommended what is called a LGIT (Low Glycemic Index Therapy) diet. Those who have used it swear by it, and it's use has decreased or even completely stopped seizures in their kids, as well as increasing function in other areas such as movement and speech. So while I have no first hand knowledge of the GFCF diet you refer to, I think it is absolutely possible to be of clinical value. I will be trying the LGIT diet soon that has been recommended. Although my DD does not have seizures, it might help her in the other areas where she could use improvement. It is even recommended by several neurologists who specialize in her disorder.

My son is gluten, dairy, and soy free because he has an intolerance to it. He also has stomach issues.
I have seen a change in his behavior. Have you had your son tested? I would get testing done.
