36 week growth sono
Just got back from the growth sono. She's measuring 65th percentile, but is already 6 lbs 15 oz.
I have 3.5 weeks to go. The dr wasn't concerned but I was! Am I going to have a huge baby? BTDT Moms, How did the baby compare to the growth sono?
Also, my dr said to come in when I had 20 painful contractions per minute- so every 3 minutes! Anyone else told to come in at every 3 minutes?

Re: 36 week growth sono
I had my growth sono at 35 weeks and he was measuring 6lb 5 oz! They weren't concerned...I am lol. I am getting another sono this week at 38 weeks bc he felt big to my doc last week....
She also told me to come in when I had 20 counter gripping contractions per hour. She said the more we labor at home, the greater a chance of a quicker and safer delivery.

I wouldn't be too concerned. They say the baby grows half a pound each week so that puts you in line for an 8 1/2 - 9 lb baby assuming they were accurate.
With dd, I had my scan at 32 weeks and she weighed 4 1/2 lb...they anticipated her being 8 1/2lb at birth if she came at 40 weeks. She came at 41+ weeks and was 8lb 5oz so they were half a pound off
This pregnancy I had my sono at 33 weeks and they said baby was 5 1/2 lbs so that puts it at an estimated 9lb at birth. The dr and I both aren't worried

This is what I was going to say. And also, keep in mind, they usually warn that growth dinos can be off by up to a full pound. If your doctor isn't concerned, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Our bodies are made for this!!

Re: 36 week growth sono
I wouldn't be concerned. My sonographer always measures bigger and everyone in my OB office knows this.
For instance, my 38-week growth for DD was 8lbs, 5oz, so they estimated she was going to be in the early 9lb range when she was born. She was 7lbs, 7oz.
They measure the femur and the head circumference to determine the weight, which is not always accurate.

Crashing but just had to say that at 38 weeks they measured my DD at like 9lbs 6oz and told me she was going to be huge. She was born at 40 weeks at 7lbs 11oz. They can be so off. Try not to stress :)

My DD was about 2 lbs less than the ultrasound predicted. My OB wasn't too concerned about a big baby. She said you can't really tell if you can push them out til you try because it depends on your body. Some people can get out a 10 lb baby and some can't get out a smaller one.

Re: 36 week growth sono
Those things are notoriously inaccutate. I feel like they shouldn't even try to guess anymore because they freak you out and more often than not they are wrong. They kept telling me DD was too small. 30th percentile and lower. Had me coming for weekly growth sonos, dopplers and NSTs. She was born at 39w 6 days at a very average 7lbs..

Re: 36 week growth sono
Camera adds ten pounds don't worry
My sister was told that her munchkin was measuring in at 8 pounds 8 ounces. She was freaking out that she was going to give birth to a turkey
Well 4 weeks later her newborn weighed 7 pounds 9oz
Try not to worry
