had my 36 week growth sono and i have a ?

so the baby is measuring a week behind at 35 weeks (i am 36 weeks), they estimated his weight to be 5 pounds, 7 ounces, i am a little concerned that he is small and i was just wondering if anyone has gone through this and if its really something i should worry about, i wont see my dr tell next wed, but the tech who did the sono said that she assumes i will have to go for another growth sono sometime next week, she seemed a little concerned at first but once all the measurements were consistent to 35 weeks (his head size, stomach, legs, etc), she didnt seem to think it was a major concern.
everything else is great, he's moving a lot, my fluid is good, and his HB was good, and he is so cute, DH and I are so over him
any advice/experiences would be appreciated

one week is no big deal. Plus sonos are notorious for not being accurate.

I wouldn't worry about it too much unless your dr tells you too - some babies just grow at different rates. One week really isn't a big deal at all. As long as everything was looking good I wouldn't give it a second thought.

I've heard the sonos can be pretty off the mark in terms of weight.

i had a sono 1 day before i was induced, the tech told us she was measuring close to 4lbs. delivered the following night and she was 3 lbs 1 oz.

glad you asked this question b/c i am 36 weeks right now and at my appt. on tuesday my dr. said i am measuring small so i have to go for a growth sono on tuesday. did they send you for a growth sono b/c you are measuring small around your belly? i wouldn't worry about the measurements being a week behind or so. they told my sister her baby would weigh only 5 lbs. but he would up being 7lb 4 oz.

I had a growth sono at about 35 weeks and DS' weight was about 4lbs and change. He was born at exactly 39 weeks and was 6lbs, 12oz. It is ok to measure a week behind or a little small, you will just have a smaller baby, which isn't the end of the world. Babies can be small and healthy

I wouldnt worry about it..Ive had growth sonos that were right on (with the twins) and way way off (with my eldest daughter)

My eldest was born at 36 weeks. They told me 4 days before she was born that she was going to weigh 5lbs 5oz..when she was born (again 4 DAYS LATER) she weighed 7lbs 15oz!

I had one at 35 weeks because I appear small (I've gained over 30 pounds). Due to the findings, I have to have a lot of tests/monitoring done now. It's frustrating...especially since both of my drs. have finally concluded that I just have small babies. I've seen the reports and my baby really and truly is far smaller than what is average, by at least a pound. I am not worried for a simple fact that I know I have small babies. This is my second pregnancy and my daughter was born 8 days early weighing less than 6 pounds. Should this baby reach 40 weeks, it will be about the same size. I am also a small framed woman...my body can't handle a 7.5-9 pound baby.

The only relief I've gotten from all the monitoring and testing is that I know labor is soon for me as I am having contractions on the monitors and have an internal 1-2 times a week!
