Anything to make curls hold and last?
Is there a product you use before you curl your hair with a curling iron, hot rollers, etc that makes the curls hold longer and not fall out in humidity etc?
I know Redken Spray Starch got high reviews, but they don't make it anymore- why I don't know, considered all the reviews were amazing.
Any other products you can spray in before curling that give the curls some holding power?

The only thing that works for me is day old hair applied with dry shampoo. It holds up maybe half the day now instead of 30 minutes
ETA: Would the spray starch give your hair serious texture? If so, see if they make a "Beach Spray" that's the IT new thing now.

My hair never held a curl for long until I got two products from Bumble and bumble - prep spray and the styling lotion

Re: Anything to make curls hold and last?
My hairdresser has put hairspray in my hair while it was still wet and then dried it, that really helped.
Otherwise, like the PP suggested, using day old hair works best

Anything to make curls hold and last?
I use to have to use hairspray to make my curls stay until I switched to a curling wand. Now I dont use any product and keep my curls for 3 days.

Re: Anything to make curls hold and last?
yes. i also use herbal essence. anything with the 2nd to last highest level. ( highest level spray is too stiff)
just curl with less hair and wait until hair is almost cooled off. do a fine all over mist with spray, then when u position your hair to where you want it, spray some more

I either use a salt spray/beach spray or some gel on each section just before I curl it.

My hair is pin straight and I have a really difficult time getting it to hold a curl. I wash it the night before and use dry shampoo the next morning that I bought from Sally Beauty Supply.
I also find that my curls hold a lot better doing small sections with a curling wand than a curling iron. I just spray it with Aussie hairspray after each curl and usually they'll stay in for most of the night.
This is the curling wand I have - they also sell it at Target. I bought the 1 - 1 1/2 inch wand because I wanted the bigger curls.

Motions Foaming wrap lotion before curling, and Freeze It spray while on the iron or rollers.
