Swollen

I'm 35+w and woke up yesterday swollen...my ring and watch were so uncomfortable I couldn't wear them. I put on my shoes and they were tight too (my ring and shoes are already a larger size from pre pregnancy).
I thought it may have just been from eating a salty dinner Tuesday night so I drank lots of water. Woke up today though and everything is still tight. I know swelling is normal in pregnancy but is there anything I can do?

Re: Swollen

I had that from my second tri on. By the end, I could barely fit my elephant feet into flip flops and I forgot what my ankle bones even looked like.
Not much you can do other than watch your sodium, drink lots and lots of water, and when it's bad, elevate and ice your feet and ankles.
But honestly, nothing really helped me at the end.

Re: Swollen

I swelled terribly at the end of my pregnancy. My legs looked like tree trunks! LOTS of water, legs up in the air when you can, epsom salt baths, prenatal massage. Those are the things that gave me any relief.

Re: Swollen

I got swollen and there was just no relief for me -- I ended up with preeclamsia - but don't automatically assume that's what you have. Just check w/the doctor.

Nothing worked for me -- unfortunately.

From weeks 30 - 36, I was gaining 10 lbs in water per week!
