How safe are your cleaning products?

I was a little surprised by some of the grades. Babyganics had very poor grades and some of the honest stuff.

How safe are your cleaning products?

This is why I don't give a crap about the natural stuff......its not really any better than the stuff that will supposedly kill us.

How safe are your cleaning products?

Each product of each brand got their own grade. Some stuff from seventh generation got an "a" and other stuff a "c".

It's all a money making rip off.

I'm sure a lot of it is marketing. But I do think some stuff is made with more natural, less toxic ingredients than other stuff. IMO.

Keep in mind that the EWG is a bit on the extreme side. Many people/groups have issues with them.

one opinion

.another opinion

My friend sells Ava Anderson products which use EWG as a base for if they are "safe" or not. I tried to switch, but most of what I tried (like the dish soap) wasn't really helpful.

I need to do more research, but we use 7th generation for now.

ETA- I do use baking soda & vinegar for a lot, too.

I use Ecover for both safety and animal rights reasons...happy to see that they scored fairly high, especially the products I use.

I also use a white vinegar/water solution for some of my cleaning...doesn't get more natural than that!

They sell their stuff in Whole Foods, but I order it online through soap.com...it's cheaper for me to do that even if I have to pay for shipping ($50+ and shipping is free) because when I go to Whole Foods I buy entirely too much stuff.

I have to agree. Besides, grapefruit spray won't clean my bathroom and entryway like my bleach does Chat Icon

Their's are the only ones I'll use. The rinse aid is great too. Whole Foods carries the tabs but I can never get the rinse aid there.

I use the same stuff, haven't used a cleaner from a bottle in years! Soap nuts for clothes and homemade dishwasher detergent too. Works better anyways!

EWG is the best. I won't buy makeup/beauty stuff unless it scores well by ewg.
