How does modcloth sizing run?
A few dresses I was looking at said true to size. But what does that mean? True to size for them might be smaller or larger than I am used to.
Do they generally run smaller or larger?
Or does it depend on the dress?

Depends.
I will say mostly a tad smaller.
However, check out the reviews and comments people leave on the item. Sometimes even the details in the description area will tip you off.

I have 3 dresses from them and I have went up a size when buying. If you read the reviews, some girls list their height and weight (and sometimes bust size) and post a pic of them in the dress! This has been very helpful when I can't decide.

How does modcloth sizing run?
Definitely depends on the dress. The reviews are helpful and so is the info in the "Details" section - sometimes it will say "runs small" or runs large" etc.

They have a size chart posted, so I think when they say true to size, they mean, according to the size chart.
However, since their clothes come from different manufacturers, they don't always lien up with the size chart.
I just ordered something that said order 1 size up, so I ordered 1 size up from where the sizing chart told me I'd be, but it is really 2 sizes up from what I would normally wear.
It hasn't come yet though, but base don the reviews, I think it is probably the closest size for me.
