Telling people next time around...

So after successful IVF we are pregnant with twins. I am 12 weeks along. Thing is its been weird too b/c I'm almost at the 1 year anniversary of last year's miscarriage. Each step this time has been such a hurdle for me, going back to the OB with a positive experience. Buying maternity pants which last time I had to return and so on... Now - this time we also havent told anyone yet. Thing is I know its time to reveal - we have a party this weekend where all siblings will be there. I just am nervous to tell - I feel like keeping it our secret has kept us safe - does that make sense? I also don't want a big fanfare - I know its a good thing and exciting, but we're just taking it day by day this time and that feels right. ANyone go through this?

I can't speak from personal experience, but I think it's fine for you to share the news in whatever way feels right to you.

Best wishes for a healthy pregnancy!

Telling people next time around...

Yes...With my 1st pregnancy (which I miscarried), I told my immediate family right after I POAS. When I became pregnant again, I was so scared and waited until we saw the HB, to tell them. Everyone else, I told at about 3 months.
I say do whatever you feel comfortable with.
Congrats, btw!!

I totally get it. We came out to family at 5 months and only because we were seeing them for Passover. Every time I came out to someone new I'd panic that it would be one more person to explain bad news to "just in case".

If you are ready to reveal I think that's fine, if you aren't it's ok. You can do it in your own time.

I'm 10 weeks, so scared every time I go to the bathroom. I've told a few friends because I've been quite sick and needed help with getting DD to and from school and because I know they will support me If I have bad news to share - which I assume I will almost everyday. This is so much differnt after a MC. When I was pregnant with DD I hardly worried at all.

We will probably reveal at 16 weeks maybe 20 if I can hide it that long.

Share the news when you are ready. I don't see anything wrong with holding off until you are comfortable.

I waited until after 20w to announce last time since the 1st go-around I announced at 12w only to have to tell those same ppl less than a week later that I had a mc.

My therapist gave me the best piece of advice: just because you SHARE wonderful news, doesn't mean something bad will happen. So as the other girls have said, share when it feels right to you! With my first I didn't share until almost 15 weeks (family was told immediately though). with my second pregnancy that ended in a MC, I also decided to wait to tell mostly everyone. That didn't change the outcome...if I get PG again, I will just do what feels right.

Congratulations btw!!!!!! xoxo
