Anyone have a baby or pregnant at 40 or 41?
I know people at that age that had issues but I also know someone in her 20s who had issues. Same goes for people those ages with no issues.
Go for it!

Re: Anyone have a baby or pregnant at 40 or 41?
All of the women that I know IRL that had children after 40 had to use assisted technology to get PG. Not all of the women were successfully able to complete their pregnancies to term or have a take home baby via their own PG.
With that said it does not mean that you particularly will have a problem. The success of one couple's fertility has no baring on another' couples success.

Anyone have a baby or pregnant at 40 or 41?
A relative's gf conceived naturally in her 40s. She had endometriosis and didn't even think she could get pregnant.

Anyone have a baby or pregnant at 40 or 41?
My cousin didn't get PG with her son until she was 41. She carried to 40w5d, healthy pregnancy, healthy baby. She did end up with an emergency c section but that was because they couldn't get her to dilate past 6 cm, which happens with women of any age. She is now 43, PG with her daughter, 28 weeks and so far, so good. The only time her age was brought up was when they told her they wouldn't allow her to try for a VBAC. Good luck!!

My husband's aunt had her 11th about 3 years ago at 47! Unplanned pregnancy and relatively uneventful! They have a healthy 3 year old now!

Anyone have a baby or pregnant at 40 or 41?
I know a couple of people who had surprise pregnancies in their 40's - no issues for them or their babies. I have one friend who used IVF in her 40's and had no issues either

Re: Anyone have a baby or pregnant at 40 or 41?
I had DS #2 at 40 (DS #1 was at 36.) No issues during the pregnancy -other than them telling us at the anatomy scan that baby's one kidney looked slightly enlarged (turned out to be nothing.) Baby is perfectly healthy and the smileyest little boy ever.

Re: Anyone have a baby or pregnant at 40 or 41?
my mom gave birth to my brother at 40. Easy pregnancy. Day of delivery went to the doctor and was told she's 4 cm and should go to the hospital. she ignored him, came home, made us dinner for the next three days, and took a shower. went in at 7:30, my brother was born at 8:10 naturally, no drugs, no tears, no nothing. the delivery doctor LOVED her!

I had my third at 39, about a month before I turned 40. She is perfect (knock on wood!). No issues with the pregnancy - very smooth and I am also a type 1 diabetic.

I was 40 when were born (39 when conceived). No issues at all. The pregnancy was just as smooth as when I was 35.

Re: Anyone have a baby or pregnant at 40 or 41?
I am 42 now, had two kids in my mid to late 30's with no issues at all but have had 3 miscarriages since I turned 40.
I am desperate for a third child but don't think I can chance it even though when I see a post like this my heart does leap and I think ??? maybe I could...should...would....I love reading the successful stories on here. I will say this I know I am not done...I don't feel done...I ache when I see a baby...if you feel like you need or want another child then go for it - the longing has not gone away for me despite 3 miscarriages in 2 years and being 42. I just haven't decided whether I should act on it or live with the ache. Lots of luck to you

Re: Anyone have a baby or pregnant at 40 or 41?
People's experiences on here aren't enough of a sample size. There are definitely risks that go up with more advanced maternal age. I'd take a look at some of the statistics for things like genetic abnormalities etc. Also, it is statistically much harder to get pregnant without assistance past 40 ( although some people manage it ! ) Ultimately, it depends on your comfort level with some higher risks. Odds are you will have a healthy baby but the numbers are different than if you were 25.
