Broadway recommendations please...
My siater and I are buying my.mother tix to a show. It was her Xmas gift but she didn't want to go when it was cold. I need some recommendations for a great show. She is open to anything, as am I. I have seen Wicked. Please help!!!
Also, some yummy, casual restaurants for lunch as well!

Re: Broadway recommendations please...
I've seen so many amazing plays!
Jersey Boys was phenomenal! It's the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, the music is excellent.
Rock of Ages was so much fun. All 80's music.
I took my mom and my grandma to see Kinky Boots as a Christmas present and we all loved it.
Cinderella and The Lion King were both really good - not sure if you're looking for a Disney play, though.
My mother-in-law recently saw Beautiful, which is the Carole King musical, and she can't stop raving about it!
Mamma Mia was fantastic! All ABBA music.
I LOVED Once. I went home and downloaded the soundtrack because I loved the music so much!
I've also heard great things about Motown. We're going to see that in August.
I've seen a few more, but I think those would be my top recommendations. Let me know if you have any questions about any of the shows.
ETA: I just saw Hedwig and the Angry Inch and I loved it!! It's a little raunchy so that would depend on your mom's taste, but NPH was amazing!

Re: Broadway recommendations please...
Once is my favorite musical that's currently running. The cast is so incredibly talented...everyone in the show acts, sings, dances and plays an instrument.
Jersey Boys is one that pretty much everyone loves. I thought it was great.
Depending on your mom's taste in music, she may like Rock of Ages.
Haven't seen Kinky Boots or Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder but have heard great things!
If she's into dramatic plays and not so much the musicals, The Cripple of Inishmaan was incredible.
If you're going to purchase tickets to any new shows that are nominated for Tony Awards, get them soon...demand gets higher as the Awards approach (June 8th).

A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder was awesome! I just saw it last week.
I was honestly disappointed with Once. I didn't see the original cast, and I was not pleased with the male lead at all.

Re: Broadway recommendations please...
Wicked is still my favorite but I really enjoyed the Lion King the costuming was so amazing. I thought Cinderella was just alright. If your mom was a fan of the old Roggers and Hammerstin on from the 60's( My mom is) she will like it. but it has a weird political twist.
Jersey Boys was great, I loved Newsies and probably would have loved it even if I never saw the original movie.
I have herd great things about Motown , and I am going to see Aladin in a few weeks that was supposed to be really good.

See Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder - it is so funny and the staging is fantastic.
