I agree, Tzaziki or maybe a blue cheese dip (for the chunky part)

Help w/dip
Not garlicky but super tasty!
1 tbsp veg oil 1 1/4 cups sliced shallots 3/4 cup mayo 3/4 cup sour cream 4oz bleu cheese Salt/pepper to taste
Cook shallots in oil over medium heat until deep golden brown. Cool. Whisk together mayo, sour cream, and bleu cheese. Mash until creamy. Stir in cool shallots. Refrigerate 2 hours.
I serve it with crackers and either a fig or raspberry jam

Re: Help w/dip
I'm actually glad you reminded me of this- I might do it Subnday for Father's day! I made it last year for a summer party, and it was a huuge hit. I bookmarked it.
If you use Marinated roasted red peppers, it may give you the tang you're looking for. I also added a little fresh basil chiffonade on top. 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 head garlic 3 whole roasted bell peppers 1/2 teaspoon oregano (optional) 1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley 1/4 cup lemon juice (juice from one lemon) 1 (8 ounce) package Phila cream cheese, at room temp. 1/4 cup sour cream 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Cut the root end off of the garlic and place the head on aluminum foil, coat with the olive oil and wrap tightly.
Bake at 400°F for 45-50 minutes.
Squeeze the garlic out into a blender or food processor. Add the roasted red peppers and lemon juice and puree. Add the herbs, cream cheese, sour cream and blend until well mixed.Add the salt and pepper and mix thoroughly.
Pour into an airtight container and refrigerate overnight to best develop flavors.
