Re: Failed IUI
No advice except to hang in there. iUi can be a long haul with male factor. I had several failed ones before proceeding to ivf (which was successful). I found that acting like I was pregnant in the 2ww (not eating soft cheeses, wine, etc. ) only added to my misery. Friends would notice, ask if I was pregnant, and I never was. Try to go about your life in the 2ww and accept that iui may take a few cycles before you get your bfp, but that's totally normal! I don't know many people who had success on their first iui. Also remember that unmedicated iui is just the starting point for what reproductive technology can offer. If it doesn't work there are other things to try :) good luck!

Re: Failed IUI
Sorry i found that IUI's were such a tease for me. I was new to the game and thought they would be the answer. My advice would be to move on after three. They do work for some people but your odds lessen after 3.

Why no meds after being on clomid?
I did 3 months of clomid, 3 clomid iui's, and then moved on to injectables. I did four cycles of iui/Gonal. First one failed, last three worked, last one stuck.
Ask your RE to change your protocol . With pcos you need some type of follicle stimulating drug.
I have pcos and slight MF. Don't give up hope!

Are you working with an RE, and were you being monitored while on clomid? I'm surprised your doctor decided to do an IUI without medication. Also, have you had an HSG done?
We are also dealing with PCOS and MFI, and I was always on fertility medications to stimulate multiple follicles. I am currently in the 2ww on our 6th IUI, but have done Clomid, Injectables and this one was a hybrid cycle (clomid & follistim). Sometime you need to just try a few different options to see which one works best for you. In my case, clomid only gave me 1 mature egg. Follistim gave me 2, and this hybrid cycle gave me 3.
When you speak with your dr, definitely ask him if you can try a medicated IUI cycle. Also, if you haven't done the HSG test yet, ask you dr to write you a prescription for one. It will give you a better idea if your tubes are open/uterus is clear, and helps flush out any debris caught in your tubes.
Best of luck.

Re: Failed IUI
Hang in there! I agree with all the above. I've been seeing an RE for the past 3 months because of MF. I'm having my 3rd (medicated; clomid & ovidrel) IUI tomorrow. We'll move onto injectables next month if this doesn't work and then ivf.
Good luck. There's a lot of ups and downs thinking this will work, it has to, and then it doesn't. Hopefully next one will end with a BFP for you!!

Failed IUI
I was on clomid with my regular obyn for six months bf going to specialist, my dh had a bad dr who said he had no issues then we retested & found out he mf. Just started seeing a re and last cycle was a monitoring cycle but I had a maturing egg so he said let's try. I'm on femera this month...let's hope it's a better month :). My dh #s were 7.7 & 85% mob. This is such a hard process....I feel like most of my friends don't understand.

Re: Failed IUI
Hugs your way. I give you major credit for doing clomid for 6 months. I did 4 months this time around and I never ever ever want to look at that stuff again.
