Where did you buy your child's bedroom furniture?
DS needs a new bedroom set. Any recommendations for good yet reasonably priced furniture? I was thinking of looking on RT 110 but I don't even know where to begin. (DS is 4 yrs old)

Re: Where did you buy your child's bedroom furniture?
Behr's - Stanley brand. Not impressed. Scratched and nicked and gashed - and my kids don't play in their bedrooms really, and I'm careful.
Pottery Barn - eh, same thing. Not at all impressed.
That whole 'you get what you pay for' motto does NOT apply to furniture. I'm disappointed w/th my Thomasville LR and Ethan Allen DR as well ........honestly? The IKEA furniture in my bedroom that was supposed to be a 'until we renovate' went upstairs into our master when we renovated, b/c I like it - and it's still in great shape - 100x better than everything else I paid a small fortune for

For both DC, we got their entire bedroom sets from Babies R Us. We even got an extra bureau for our bedroom because we liked it so much.... 11 years later, DS's furniture is still in great shape, as is DD's 8yo furniture.

Casco Kids, check out their website. They are located in Centereach. Bought my son's bedroom stuff there about 10 years ago and it still looks new.

Bed and dresser are from Ikea (both are solid wood), bookcase is from Gothic Cabinet Craft. They look great and are very sturdy. My house generally has Room & Board, West Elm, CB2, and Macys furniture, but I am huge Ikea fan as well for their solid wood and higher quality stuff.

Raymour and Flanigan... looks nice, but the desk got scratched already and he's only 5 so can't imagine how it will get. Queen bed with head and footboard, desk and hutch, dresser and 1 nightstand. Pics are in my album.

Re: Where did you buy your child's bedroom furniture?
We didn't have a lot of money when DC#2 came . We bought an inexpensive set from BRU. The quality is terrible!! It is so poorly made , the drawers keep falling through. So needless to say - 2 years later, we bit the bullet and bought a beautiful set from Behr's. My daughter's furniture is from there also - it's 6 years old and in excellent condition still. Their quality is excellent.
We did consider Bob's too. After my parents had a house fire, the replaced all their bedroom furniture (3 bedrooms) with Bob's furniture and it's held up nicely for 6 years. But they also don't have little kids.
My motto now is - you buy cheap you pay twice!

I agree about the "higher quality" stuff. We got DD a set from Behr's- Echelon and it was pricey. The first crib they sent to us had a huge gash on the front rail so I went it back. Now on the new one I notice areas where they missed the paint. Also, there is a part where the paint chipped on the dresser and one of the drawers doesn't close as smoothly as it's supposed to. Next time I'm shopping at Ikea.
