Menu Thread 6.29.14

Sun: turkey burgers, sweet potato fries and peas and maybe carrot fries

Mon: pea lasagna roll ups (do not have spinach) and cucumber salad

Tues: falafel with pita bread and homemade tzatski sauce

Wed: grilled chicken and tomatoes

Thurs: chicken patties with baked potatoes

Fri: 4th of July bbq - salads and my twice a month red meat day - probably making 3 bean salad which is a family favorite. also making a cake of some kind

Sat: pasta with peas

this week i am trying to save $ and eat out of my freezer and pantry. hopefully will not have to go shopping

eta: had to go shopping.. i use cottage cheese instead of ricotta sometimes, and i realized i bought cottage cheese with pineapples. can not use that in the lasagna roll upsChat Icon

Sunday: lentils, corn, onions and peppers over polenta

Monday: black bean and corn salad

Tuesday: orzo and chick pea salad

Wednesday: lentil sloppy joes

Thursday: trader joes vegetable gyoza with peppers

Friday: baseball BBQ

Saturday: grilled portobellos mushroom burgers

Sunday - Polenta rounds with spicy tomato-basil sauce and mushrooms/side salad

Monday - Tofu and vegetable stir-fry over rice

Tuesday - Pasta with spinach and garlicky, sauteed mushrooms

Wednesday - Curried vegetables and parotha/side salad

Thursday - A mix of snack-y foods...cheese and crackers, olives, peppers, that kind of thing

Friday - grilling...something! LOL

Saturday - may be ordering in from a local Indian place that we've been meaning to try

Sunday: BBQ for my cousin's high school graduation.

Monday: Grilled chicken and corn with an asparagus salad.

Tuesday: Spinach lasagna roll ups

Wednesday: Chicken Fajitas

Thursday: Going to Astoria for the night

Friday: BBQ at DH's parent's house

Saturday: Going out east with my family

Sunday: BBQ at our friend's house

Monday: Grilled chicken and vegetable kabobs

Tuesday: Ziti Fiorentina- ziti with sauteed spinach and chicken in vodka sauce and baked with mozzarella cheese.

Wednesday: Chicken, asparagus and mushroom stir-fry

Thursday: Going to Atlantic City - I think we're just going to grab some food at the sports bar, depending on what time we get there.

Friday: Reservations at Bobby Flay's Steakhouse.

Saturday: Reservations at Carmine's.

Polenta is cornmeal that you cook up with water or broth...you can serve it as-is (which would be like a porridge consistency) with toppings like sauce, sautéed vegetables, cheese, etc...or you can put it in a pan in the fridge to firm it up, then cut it into pieces and bake or fry it, then put toppings on it.

You could also buy it pre-made in a tube, and just slice and bake it.

It's really great...I love it when I want pasta but don't want the heaviness of pasta.

Menu Thread 6.29.14

Finally getting to the store tomorrow so have my menu together.

Sun- leftover pasta with meatballs

Monday- Grilled, breaded pork chops, applesauce, baked beans, grilled sweet potatoes

Tuesday- Buffalo turkey burgers, cheesy rice and broccoli

Wednesday- leftover pork chops (maybe on a roll with some tomato and mozzarela since there's no much left), leftover rice, salad

Thursday- burgers, corn on the cob, salad

Friday- out for the 4th hopefully. Still need to figure out what i'm bringing.

Saturday- hot dogs, corn, caprese salad

Monday: PB&J for the kids (DH at work)

Tuesday: Grilled Skirt Steak, Potatoes and Egg Frittata

Wednesday: Whole Wheat Linguine and zoodles with clam sauce

Thursday: Deep Dish Sloppy Joe Casserole

Friday: BBQ at my aunts

Saturday: ?
