Carpet recommendations?
DH and I are planning on carpeting our second floor (the two upstairs bedrooms). Who do you recommend for carpets?

Re: Carpet recommendations?
I *think* we used Carpet Emporium in Lynbrook and they were great. Pricing and installation were quick and reasonable.
More importantly, DO NOT go with Empire. I have ranted about them before on here. Horrific, horrific experience.

Re: Carpet recommendations?
I've used Carpet Depot (they are in Wantagh and Levittown). We dealt with the Wantagh store, but I know people who have used Levittown and spoke well of them.

I used the levittown one and didn't have a great experience.
They measured the room incorrectly so they ordered the wrong amount of carpet. The installer didn't even try to work with us and just left. The owner called me and basically blamed me even though there was no way it was my fault, obviously. He made me feel terrible and eventually agreed he'd be footing the bill (he never said otherwise, but his tone made me feel like he was going to say that). He then turned semi-nice, i must admit but i still had a bad taste in my mouth.
About a week later, the full carpet was installed and it's just terrible. The carpet itself is nice (we love it) but there are random bumps all over the living room (you only notice it when you step on them though).
All that said, my mom used them too (before me) and loved them.

Carpet recommendations?
My parents recently had a great experience with Jim Flack in Farmingdale on Rt. 110. They said the price was great as was the installation process.

I used them too. They were great and it was cheap!

Yeah, I should clarify that I used the Wantagh one awhile ago, and my family members who used the Levittown one did it at least a couple of years ago.
But yes, it sounds like your experience was VERY frustrating! I feel like it's so hit or miss at a lot of these type of places.

Re: Carpet recommendations?
can I ask what everyone spent on carpeting.
we have a family room and guest room that we need carpeted. approximately 440 square feet total.

Carpet recommendations?
Our's is probably a total of about 400-450 sq ft total for both rooms & the hall way between the two. Curious what people spent as well (estimates) if willing to share!
