Upset - has anyone dealt with this ?
My gyno had me and DH go for some tests. I got my DH results on his semen analysis and it didn't come back good. His count is low, the shape isn't round like it should be and doesn't swim fast enough. I'm so upset but trying not to show it in front of DH. My doc told me for him to go see a urologist and to go see an infertility doc. I made both appointments for end of the month. Has anyone dealt with this with there DH and have gotten pregnant?

We are dealing with male infertility also -- DH has low count and low motility. He sees a fabulous urologist -- Dr. Sarah Girardi. Her office is in Manhasset and she is affiliated with North Shore. I can't say enough good things about her. She put DH on Clomid and his count has improved -- its still not where we would like it, but its better. We have gone through 4 (failed) IUI's and have moved on to IVF, which often increases your chances of conceiving significantly when dealing with male infertility issues. Good luck!

Thanks! I actually made an appointment with her last week for DH. I heard she is amazing!

DH saw dr. Girardi. He had poor motility and morphology. He stopped smoking and drinking, which helped, but didn't solve the problem. I had IF problems, too though. We did 7 iui's. 4 bfn, 2 miscarriages and 1 baby in my belly ;)

We are dealing with male infertility as well. My husband met with a urologist for poor motility and morphology. We're having our 4th iui this week and I have an appointment to discuss IVF.
It's good your husband sees a urologist and find a RE that you both like and convenient for monitoring appointments.
Good luck!!

We dealt with severe MFI due to chemotherapy. We had to use my DH's frozen sperm from before his treatment. Each vial contained less than 500K sperm and the motility was ~1%. After 3 cycles, we now have a 2 month old DS via IVF/ICSI. So it is definitely possible to get pregnant.
My DH also had a varicocele, but having it fixed did not make him produce sperm. He is also on clomid due to low T, but that unfortunately had no affect on sperm production either.

Hubby has poor morphology as well. For us it's been fine. Before our IUI's, the RE "washes" it and all is well. Turns out I'm the issue, and his isn't a big deal at all.

Re: Upset - has anyone dealt with this ?
Def have him see a urologist for input. My DH had many SA's with poor morph and mobility. He went to see a urologist who recommended varicocele surgery for him to improve things. He also did a DNA frag test and had high oxidation and free radicals causing his DNA to be compromised in the sperm. Just a mess. Our RE recommended he do acupuncture, take fish oil, pycnogenol, melatonin, and Ubiquanol to neutralize the free radicals. We ended up pregnant naturally so things must have improved from these additions.
