Just got my first delivery of IVF medication.....
And I'm officially scared shitless. I knew that there was going to be A LOT of medicine -- I had the order inventory e-mailed to me -- my IVF nurse walked me through it all. As I was unpacking the massive box, for the first time since deciding we were going to do IVF, I became scared and nervous. Some of the needles look so thick and big. I'm probably just being a baby, but has anyone else experienced this feeling of "holy shit this is real and scary?!?!".

Just got my first delivery of IVF medication.....
I had the same reaction! It's very overwhelming. I remember ALL of the meds and especially the pio needles. Even dh was like, that whole needle goes in? Umm yeah tx for making me feel better.
Just take it one step at a time. Do what you have to do as you're asked to do it. Don't look ahead and focus on one thing at a time. It's really not as bad as it seems and I did it twice.

Just got my first delivery of IVF medication.....
It is scary & most of the needles you need are the small ones. You will be able to give to yourself.............dont worry. Just close your eyes.

Definitely! They first time they told me about everything I went in the car and cried I was so overwhelmed. Then I got a grip - but then we went for our instruction with nurse and I was completely overwhelmed again! It is scary and a lot to take on - but it really isn't that bad once you get started. It was that first night for me - and I was used to shots from all our iuis. As PP said - take it one shot at a time, one day at a time, and each time pat yourself on the back and consider it crossed off - making progress moving towards your goal. Good luck! You'll do great!

Just got my first delivery of IVF medication.....
When I got my PIO needles I nearly died. But, it's not so bad! I found the anticipation to be the worst part. Gonal shots are easy peesy in your belly. And for PIO just try to relax :) I didn't do the other shots, but just remember to breath. It'll go quickly!

Yup. Been there. I actually laid it all on out my table and cried a lot. Then I took a picture of it. That is my first picture in my twins baby book now:) The 2nd picture is my 2 embryos they transferred

My first night ever on injectables, my husband forgot to add the saline to the Bravelle powder . Fortunately I noticed it just as he was about to inject me. I yelled at him, he yelled at me, I became hysterical. I was too afraid to let him do it but if we didn't I was terrified it would ruin the cycle we just paid thousands for. A few hours and a hysterical phone call later, my friend who is an RN took the subway from Brooklyn to my apartment in lower Manhattan at 10 pm and injected me.
I have three beautiful kids now, and am going for a fourth :)
You are not alone, it will work out, it will be worth it, and you may well sign on to do it again'!
