First IVF Cycle Advice
Just wondering if anyone has any words of wisdom for my first IVF cycle. Anything I should eat or do to?
I do my trial transfer tomorrow. Does this hurt? My hystogram hurt so much, I was out of work for 2 days!
I'm so nervous, I don't know anyone who has gone through an IVF cycle or even through any part of the infertility process.

Re: First IVF Cycle Advice
The transfer does not hurt at all. The worse part for me was having to have a full bladder. I know how hard it is, but try to relax over the next two weeks. Keep a positive frame of mind. Don't lift anything heavy or do any strenuous exercise. Good luck!!!!

Re: First IVF Cycle Advice
IF you have had an IUI before, a transfer is exactly the same. Feels a lot like a pelvic exam.
The stims will be your hardest part...once you get into the retrieval and transfer it's smooth sailing (aside from the horror of the 2WW). Good luck to you!! When do you start stimming?

I start the first week of Oct....provided I get AF in a timely manner. But with the BCP and Lupron, I should get it then.
Never had a IUI, I'm not a candidate. I am starting with IVF, NSUH Drs think that is my best options and the others would be a waste of time and money. Thank god we qualified for the grant. We are not getting as much as we hoped, but at least it's something!

Re: First IVF Cycle Advice
I am on my fourth IVF cycle so i am pretty much an expert by now. the egg retrievals were ok I was a little sore the next day or so. but the full bladder for the transfer is pretty hard to do without feeling like peeing all over the dr. but here is some advise its ok to cry when you need to and you will these hormones make you crazy like that my hubby has told me to suggest that your hubby move out for a few weeks or get a second job . it isn't all that bad and the time goes by quickly and i know it all seems confusing but it gets easier... I go for my retrieval next week......good luck

Re: First IVF Cycle Advice
The transfer was more uncomfortable than painful...I didn't have a completely full bladder just halfway. As far as the IVF goes it was actually alot easier than I thought. I did overstim a little which was uncomfortable. The worst part for me was the retrieval....I was really sore afterwards for a few days. Good Luck!!!
