Deleting..
I should have never even posted... This has turned into something I didn't intend to. Quite annoying actually.
Thanks to all who posted, both positive and negative without taking it too personally or defensively.

He works with out of network coverage. A lot of his patients are NYC teachers. In my biased because he gave me my miracle the man is totally worth it!

Re: Braverman- not using him but want honest opinion
I met with him a few years ago prior to having DD - who I conceived through ivf. I came in with a previously diagnosed autoimmune disease and felt he was very money hungry, especially knowing i was oop ( this was around the time he stopped accepting insurance). I know he has gotten many women pregnant and may be their miracle worker and def thinks outside the box. For me he kept bringing up $ and what he could do and how much. It just felt strange and did not make me comfortable. Why does he need to advertise so much??

I hate him. For a few reasons. You will always hear great reviews about a dr if someone got pg from them.

Re: Braverman- not using him but want honest opinion
I am a success story from Dr B on our first IVF. He quickly found endo and sent me for a lap and then found a slew of immune issues which he treated me for. I always wondered why he needed to advertise so much (especially because it didn't seem that he needed more patients). He is in network for a few insurnance companies (Cigna is one of then) so for me I was able to use my insurance but I know that he accepts out of network benefits as well (and from what I hear he will just accept what the OON benefits pay him). They also were very supportive after I was pg and when I had a lot of issues in my first trimester (I can think of one instance where I ran into the office during their lunch hour in a panic with bleeding and Dr B opened the office and came back to see me right away). There were definitely times when I was turned off by the office because of various issues (response time was the biggest for me) but I do feel like he thinks out of the box as others have said and ultimately he brought me my miracle.

Braverman- not using him but want honest opinion
I'm sure anyone who has gotten pregnant by him raves about him. I just find it strange that he advertises so much. I mean he is all over this website and when I saw him in the back of the paper, a huge ad , like a business. I know in reality it is a business but to me, and this is just my opinion, it's just too much. I don't want anyone who has used him to get defensive because I am sure he's a great doctor, I'm just skeptical.

Re: Braverman- not using him but want honest opinion
Like many women have said, some love him some don't. He was my miracle worker too and I paid out of pocket for him. He was my 4th dr that I saw after 5 years of trying to have a baby and I had unexplained infertility. I ended up having immune issues, and within a year I was pregnant with my first DS. Im now pregnant with baby number 3. l love his office, the nurses are wonderful and I loved Dr. B. I know other women who have left Dr. B for other doctors and they have gotten pregnant so honestly it is whatever doctor fits with you.

I don't think It's odd that he advertises. Honestly, I think its a smart idea. I can tell you first hand he's def not money hungry but very generous. Women need to know there are other Drs out there, especially one who treats immunology and reproductive medicine. I've consulted with a handful of Drs and would recommend some regardless of me not using them, getting me pregnant. Like other posters have mentioned, its all how you fit in. He mainly specializes in recurrent pregnancy loss as it relates to immune disorders.

I 100 percent believe without him I don't have my twins
He emails me back whenever I had a question and I had a million within 5 minutes
When I was in hospital with a blood clot he checked in on me
Worked with my hemo to get me on the right medS to finally hold a pregnancy
Staff was amazing and since unused up all my medS always helped me with getting some cheaper or donated
I was with him for 2 and a half yrs and would go back in a sec

Re: Braverman- not using him but want honest opinion
I was one of those who Dr.B did not work for......at least not in the way he intended. When it came to a point (3 years later) that I switched to a new practice, Dr.B told me he didn't care who got me my miracle baby, he just wanted to see it happen. Well, then as luck would have it, I did get pregnant with my now 10.5 month old DS. All along my pregnancy, I remained in contact with Dr.B. In fact, at one point I had a scary bleeding episode at the start of my second trimester. I emailed Dr.B and within hours he met me at his office on a Sunday when they are not even open so we could check on my baby.
He may not have worked for me as a doctor, but he truly is a genuinely good man and a zillion percent not money hungry. I think advertising is smart because it helps get his name out. I've since recommended him to people, even though he is not the doctor who made me a success story.

Well that says a lot about him when he wasn't even your dr anymore. What a great relationship to have!

Re: Braverman- not using him but want honest opinion
He is an amazing doctor and an amazing person. All of the IF practices advertise in one way or another and he is a small practice and his services are really specialized. I hardly think he is "all over" this site, he sponsors two relevant boards. Had it not been for his following on LIF I would not have heard of him and not have my DD. He was getting so much free press here I doubt he even needs to advertise here. ETA: he is very honest about is services and even told me he attributes some of his successes to being a lot of women's last resort and that he gets the luck of the numbers game...longer you try better chance of success.

I have recommended practices where I wasn't successful too. There are a few great docs out there and you need to find the one you want to work with.

Braverman- not using him but want honest opinion
Again, I posted my opinion and concerns-everyone has the right to their opinions and stories- which is why I was hesitant about posting here about this to begin with bc people get so defensive about it. I appreciate the positive successful stories. But I also appreciate the respect of everyone's opinions as well.

Re: Braverman- not using him but want honest opinion
Not a Braverman patient bc frankly, I could not afford him or the initial consult ($$) and I was always very turned off my all of the advertisement too! I thought it was just me. I did email through the website with a general synopsis of my case wondering how much the consult would be bc I'm not in network and I was surprised to get a call back from him directly a day later. He took the time to really give his opinion as to what is going on with me and honestly, it is something that my current RE, who didn't at first but now agrees with. I just like the fact that he made the time to call back directly and it surprised me. That's my only experience with him bc I chose to go to someone in my insurance.

Braverman- not using him but want honest opinion
I have no experience with this Dr and never saw his name but on this site. As far as advertising. I guess it would depend, does he just have an ad giving his number and address and what he specializes in or does he offer discounts and coupons (which I assume that's not the case). My eye doc advertises and it doesn't bother me. To me when Drs offer deals I wonder why??

Re: Braverman- not using him but want honest opinion
I would recommend Dr. Braverman not ONLY because he got me pg with my now 4 year old DS but bc like another poster mentioned...he is a genuinely GOOD man. Yes he advertises and why shouldn't he? This is his career after all and that career/job pays the bills for him just like it does for any of us. What I loved about him the most is that he genuinely wants to help. I once left a message for him to call me back bc of a question I had while cycling. He called me back while he was at the zoo with his kids. Not that I expected him to call back so quickly but I think that speaks volumes about his character as a physician.
Not everyone is going to like any given doctor and this is OK.... but my experience with Dr. Braverman and the experience of countless others has been nothing short of amazing.

Re: Braverman- not using him but want honest opinion
I think he may do more advertising since he doesn't participate with insurances (or few insurances). If he is not participating he would not be on many insurance directories. And therefore harder to find if he doesn't have his name out there.
I did a consult with him many years ago. I met with him after 3 failed ivf's with another practice. He spent a lot of time reviewing records and consulting with me. I liked that he was a bit unconventional in his thought process. I didn't end up using him because I was concerned about the cost. I never conceived~and in the back of my mind I sometimes wonder if he could have helped me

Re: Braverman- not using him but want honest opinion
i didnt read through all the replies. he worked for me so i love him. but thats not the only reason i love him.
hes one of the most caring and innovative people i have ever met. he genuinely cares about all of his patients. he has amazing bedside manner - you feel like hes your old friend, not a doctor that has to do the most invasive of procedures. but most importantly he is seriously a leader in the field. many doctors do not agree with his protocols and treatments for immune issues and thrombophilias because they arent YET taught as reason for infertility, miscarriage and third trimester complications. but there are literally thousands of his patients, thousands of SIRM patients (prob 10s of thousands) and even more Dr. Kofinas patients who can literally prove that these innovative, outside the box treatment protocols do work. the key is there is virtually no "unexplained" dx with these doctors. they do testing and FIND OUT whats wrong and they treat it. that's why theyre successful. any doctor that balks at these protocols simply hasn't done the research themselves and will 100% treat you with a general cookie cutter protocol.
the fact is, getting pregnant even with NO issues takes a lot of luck. some people need a basic protocol to ovulate and they are good to go. others need a really intensive program. some people (only a handful with science these days) never are successful. no matter what, its A LOT OF LUCK. treatments can increase the likelihood of it working out but sometimes the doctor and protocol that work are pure luck and miracles.
all of that being said (and i will remove myself from ) dr. b is awesome. some people dont jive with his personality. thats life. for me, he got me pregnant. i love him like family. it took me literally YEARS to stop emailing him at least once a month. im guessing he advertises BECAUSE he doesnt take insurance. his wait times when he did take it were ridiculous. greedy, however, he is not. he DONATED all of my injectable meds to me my first few cycles when i didnt have coverage (when he still accepted insurance).
he gives the most personal care you will ever receive. i dont remember your history offhand, but if you just need clomid - dont see him. go to a cookie cutter place and get knocked up with insurance coverage. if you have mc and failed IVFs or unexplained (ie undiagnosed) longer term issues, he's the man for the job. if getting the RIGHT clients (ie hardest cases) means he cant take insurance, then i dont like it, but i get it. i dont think its weird at all.

To your point re: wait time - they are still ridiculous. It really aggravated me, and even more so my husband. We went to so many doctors and this is the only office where scheduling was an issue.
We didn't love him personality wise, but his testing was thorough, and I now have a 2 month old.

Dr. Braverman is an amazing man and doctor. When I was under his care, I truly felt like he cared about me. What doctor personally emails and leaves voicemails for a patient like Dr. Braverman? He was always so positive and inspirational. He really goes above and beyond.
