Vericocele
Hey Girls,
So my DH went to his first Uraologist appt yesterday and she thinks that he has Vericocele. She made him go for an ultrasound but don't have results back yet. It's always something!!! I am so stressed out. I have an email into my RE who we just met on Monday. We had discussed doing an IUI next month with him b4 i found this out. My ? to him was if this is DH's issue will an IUI even work?? Anyone dealing with this with there DH? TIA!

Re: Vericocele
In the grand scheme of MFI, a varicocele is generally relatively easy to fix. It takes time to see improvement after, but anything with MFI takes 3-6 months usually.
However, an IUI can still work if he's still getting good sperm. What was his SA?

Vericocele
My doc had him go for a SA in June this is where we found there was an issue. 10Mil count-40% Motility . His uraologist has him going for another SA on Monday.

Vericocele
With my experience, I would try the IUI before he has the surgery for the vericocele. My DH had low count and motility as well. He had the surgery but still took a long time (over a year!) for his numbers to recover. We still ended up doing IUI's to get pregnant with my daughter even though he had had the surgery. Once his numbers did recover, we got pregnant with my son naturally on the first try!

Vericocele
My DH had this and had the surgery to correct it. His recovery took a long time... If he had to do it again, he wouldn't.
