Debate my friend and I are having...Re: Titantic
She died. I took it as Jack was her soul mate and when she died she reunited with him. She had married and probably loved her dh but was always waiting for Jack. Now I want to go watch the movie and cry. Dumb work always gets in the way.

Debate my friend and I are having...Re: Titantic
Her meeting the husband in heaven would have done nothing for the story of Titanic. That's why she meets Jack.

She dies.
When she and Jack are in the water and she starts to say her good-byes, he tells her to stop, that she will die an old lady, warm in her bed. And then at the very end, she does.
ETA: That last scene makes me cry every time.
Yep - And before that she throws the ginormous diamond worth god knows how much money overboard and let it sink to the bottom of the ocean .............. I yelled at the screen in the movie theater for that one -

Yeah I never understood her throwing the blue diamond in the water. Why not give it to your granddaughter she was right there on the boat in the story!? lol
But yes agree that she dies an old woman and reunites with Jack in heaven the way they used to be or too live out what could have been...

Debate my friend and I are having...Re: Titantic
I personally think that Jack and Rose would have had a terrible relationship after Titanic. He was a good catalyst for getting her out of the hell of a life she would have had with that dickwad but I can't imagine how they could have had a happily ever after. Jack lived on in her mind as the "one" instead of staying alive and being a douche artist who would have probably cheated on her as he was a bit of a swindler.

She died an old lady warm in her bed just as Jack tells her. Her spirit then rejoins all the others who died on the ship along w Jack. If you notice when the doors to the dining room open, those are the third class people, Jack, & crew who didn't survive.

Re: Debate my friend and I are having...Re: Titantic
Totally off topic here
I know I'm a cold hearted "witch" sometimes but now watching it as a 30 something ( instead of 16 yr old like when it came out) Does anyone else think it's kinda crazy to be so devastated by Jack dying when Rose only knew him for what, like 3 or 4 days?
I mean did she just never remarry bc she was so upset at losing him or maybe she did but in her afterlife she goes right back to him? That's kinda sad if she had another husband.
I could "go on and on" with all my nit picks about this character

I really, really do not like the character of Rose at all, and I have a lot of problems with her.

Guilty!
Dh and I watch this when ever it's on. I cry when she meets jack and everyone else. I do giggle when she throws the Heart of the ocean. The "ehh" when she throws it... Just makes laugh.
