taking a newborn.out
I really need to run errands... how bad is it to take an almost month old newborn with me?

Re: taking a newborn.out
I took DD on errands at that age. I kept her in the carrier with a light blanket over the whole thing so nobody could breathe on her. It was fine

I took my DD with me to run errands, etc. My pediatrician recommended trying to avoid busy times of the day to minimize the number of people in the stores.

Re: taking a newborn.out
This time of year is a good time to get out with a newborn. I would just keep him/her covered in the infant carrier. My dc#2 was out within 2 weeks and that was late fall. I had no choice, just keep the baby covered.

Not bad at all. You do what you got to do. Just make sure since it's still hot out to not dress him/her too warm.

Re: taking a newborn.out
I had my DS out at 3 weeks. Not to the mall, but to stores when they weren't too busy. It made me feel so much better to leave the house too!

Same. I had DC2 out and about within a week and a half and that was in the dead of winter.
Just don't let people touch or get too close to the baby.

Once I was allowed to drive and could walk and carry carrier without pain (bad C-section recovery) I took DS wherever I had to to go. He was a February baby.

Re: taking a newborn.out
I was out and about running quick errands when DS was 2 weeks old. I guess in some peoples' book it's not ideal, but I wanted to get out and do things, and DS did just fine.

Me too. Dd born around this time too. Once I felt physically okay she went with me everywhere! Like literally we lunched constantly. I was on maternity leave and tried my best to live it up!
Also she was 8 weeks during hurricane sandy and we didn't have power for 14 days so I would stroll her at the mall for hours no joke to stay warm. She didn't get sick until she was 14mos old and that was after being in daycare for 10mos!

Re: taking a newborn.out
I started taking my DS out at 2 wks old. I also had to run errands and didn't have much help in the day time with DH being at work- so something had to give. I made sure he was covered by a net, sun visor, or receiving blanket and we went on our merry way! He'll be 10wks tomorrow and we pretty much go everywhere now but I still make sure there's not a lot of people touching him and that he's covered when need be.

We took her out from the start and it was march. We were at the mall at 9 days old (went at an off time). She hasn't been sick a day in her life and she's 6m old.

Do it. I took my DD out the day after she came home. Just kept her in her snap and go.
