Can you sub. In Nassau or Suffolk if out on Maternity Leave from NYC system?
Morning! I know that I can sub. In a NYC public school while on my extended maternity leave. It did get me thinking though if I am "allowed" to sub. once in a while locally though. Anyone know?

I think the rule is (generally) it must be for the DOE...but call the UFT

Pretty sure it's neither...If you are on leave you are on leave. And I think that if they found out you could lose your job.

you are allowed to sub or do per session/f status in the DOE while one leave, you can be terminated for being employed by anyone else while on leave and I would assume this means subbing anywhere else

I have a feeling that they'd find out as soon as the subbing LI school ran your prints online through OSPRA or TeachNY. They have to do this by law if you're hired.

Yes a coworker did some subbing in NYc while on childcare

Thanks ladies! DH's aunt was willing to help us 2 to 3 times a month and figured maybe I'd go sub for grocery money, staying in the know, and keeping some sanity! ;) I was just curious if this was an option.
