How long for swollen lymphnode to go down after starting antibiotics?

I'm only on the 4th pill, and I still obviously have a huge lump in the side of my neck. If you have had a swollen lymph node due to illness that could be cured by antibiotics, how long did it take to go back to normal?

The doctor said it's not normal for an adult to get a swollen one in this spot (side of my neck) and that it might not even go down, and in that case I would have to see the ENT. What has been your experience?

Just to be on the safe side I would ask my dr. To take a needle biopsy of it. I had one a few years ago and my dr. Said to come back if the swelling didn't go down after the antibiotics because it could be a sign of something more serious. Luckily mine went down after starting the antibiotics. Hopefully it's nothing and goes down soon! GL

Sorry! I didn't read it clearly, I thought it said you were on your 4th round of antibiotics! Mine started to go down after 4-5 days and completely normal by the the 8 or 9th day of the 10 day antibiotic.

It took mine a few days to go down.

Thanks ladies! Yes, first round of antibiotics! I am going to ask for the needle biopsy if it doesn't go down though!

I've had a swollen lymphnode last for a month. It sometimes take a little while before they go down.
