Playdates have started for my daughter who just started kindergarten
So she has her first playdate with another child in her class I met her mom quick at open house very sweet like her saw the daughter quick cute kid my daughter talks about her. Well the mom called me last night for a playdate this weekend. I spoke with another friend of mine who daughter is also going to the playdate and said usually this mom is the type ok see ya in two hours were this is all new to me do I stick around for the first one or do I drop her. She is right around the corner I can actually see the house from my kitchen window. Advice would be great

I'm not comfortable leaving my 5 year old at someone's house yet ........
it's your call, but if you don't want her dropping her kid off and saying 'see ya' - what if you meet at the park or something?

If you knew them well id say ok. But being you just met them id stay and see how they roll so to speak lol.

In K, I stayed.
First, only if I spent some time with the parents.
This weekend was the first time I dropped my son off at a birthday party at a home where I didn't know the parents well.

For first play dates, I usually meet the mom and child at the playground or something. Once I get to know them a little better, I will invite them to my house or would feel comfortable going to their house if invited. I have not yet left my 6 year old (first grader) at someone's house, but at this point I would feel comfortable leaving him at a few houses (now that I know the parents!)
