Am I being paranoid
We are in the middle of construction, my sons room is 9 x 12 but has a double closet so it's really 9 x 10. I saw the beams up and I'm having a panick attack that we made the wrong decision to not put the closet over the extension to give him the extra two feet in the room. Am I nitpicking? Is it a big deal to make a change after the beams are up?

You would likely have to submit a change of plans with your architect and submit the amended plans to your town. Then you pay a fee with your contractor to move it. The change of plans would delay the overall process.

As PP said, you can definitely change it, but it would cost you in both time and money.
I don't think 2 feet is going to make a huge difference anyhow. Don't stress - it'll be great when it's done

What would be the case if you changed it? Would the room have no closet? If so, I would leave that closet in there.

For 2 feet I would not make all those changes. Also, if it doesn't have a closet it cannot be considered a bedroom (if you were to sell later on).

Its somewhat difficult to picture what the alternative is to what you have set up now.
if you're just moving the closet from 1 section of the room, into another section of the room, it is a doable change that may cost some, revising plans and reframing. However, if it is expanding over a new part of the house that is a whole nother story.
Either or, it might be worth pursuing if it wasn't super costly, 10x9 is smallish.

My DS room is 7x10 and I would love for it to be 9x10. While its not a huge room it is perfectly fine to fit normal bedroom furniture
